The plant, an integral part of Anglo-American's vast metallurgical complex to recov. er gold, uranium and sulphur from 'gold plant residues, was built in 1971 but was not put into operation because of the weak uranium market at the time. Eagle refuge SAUK CITY, Wis. (AP) The National Wildlife Federation has acquired a 150-acre refuge known as the Ferry Luff Eagle Sanctuary to guarantee the survival of bald eagles roosting from December to March each The refuge stretches along the Wisconsin River and was made possible with the help of a $47,000 donation from -a St. Louis firm.

Sister found CANTON, Ohio (AP) Aristidis Stamatis of Athens," Greece, finally found his sister after. 57 years apart. After writing a letter to the mayor of Cincinnati, Bobbie Sterne, which was passed on to Canton Mayor Stanley Cmich, Stamatis found his sister through that mayor's secretary Helen Christ who knew Mrs. Berbeles from her church. (AP) The Tunkhannock Viaduct, more commonly known as the Nicholson Bridge, has been designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil glneers.The structure, the largest of its kind ever built of reinforced concrete, was put into service in 1915.
