Born in England, he was brought to Canada by his parents in 1911.

The family first settled in Fernie, moving to the Okanagan later. Mr. Bonell began to work for Cominco as an electrician in 1934 and stayed with the company until ill health forced him to retire. Surviving are his wife, Ann; two sons, Gordon, 15, and Harvey, 10; two brothers, Len of Burnaby and Dan of Kimberley; two sisters, Mrs. J.

E. Collier and Mrs. J. Pollard, and his stepfather, J. Scobie, all of Kamloops.
