J4M.LlAMJf 0) TWO ORCHESTRAS BROADCAST FOR THE REPUBLICAN Brownagle and Leichtman Bands Heard in Program From Station WGBI Two exceptionally clever orchestras, Ted Brownagle and his Victor Recorders, and Milt Leichtman and his Wonder Band, furnished a Scranton Republican program over Station WGBI last night Judging by the hundreds of telephone calls that swamped the station during the time each band was on the air, their programs were received wiUi the highest favor by the thousands of listeners throughout the valley. Brownagle's orchestra was a real treat, the youthful leader playing a score or more of instruments during his presentation. The vocalist of the band was another delightful feature, he singing several of the latest musical hits.

The orchestra is to make a return engagement at the studio on Thursday night, April 12, when they will be back in Scranton to play at the Scranton Casino. After the broadcast, Brownagle and his orchestra played at the Y. H. A. formal inaugural ball.

Although making his debut at WGBI last night, Mr. Leichtman lost little time in making a place for himself along the other nationally known orchestras who have broadcasted Scranton Republican programs from the studio. Two feature artists with the band, Mr. Farrar, a cometist, and Ralph Ad ler, violinist, roved their merits and played many "hot" as well as classical solos in front of the microphone. Later the orchestra playeJ before a capacity crowd at the Scranton Casino, where their program was equally as creditable.

At an early date, they will be brought back for a local return engagement. NEW ENCLOSURE FOR PARK TENNIS COURTS Director of Public Works William A.
