February -Tbe IImW3 San IVt 13 LEAD SALES AT REALTY WORLD-REALTY 1 In 1982 lt Cummings Re-Elected library Board Head; Circulation Increases to 335,388 Items J- JOTCENSSCSN Realty World-Realty 1, with offices at 40 Main Street, was the recipient of the first place award for having achieved the greatest increase in sales and listings sold throughout the 17 Western Realty World offices. Real estate sales during 1982 increased x37 percent for total volume in excess of 10.2 million dollars. Exceptional sales achievement awards were presented to Realty 18 top producers. Joyce Howe, a Millinor for the past five years of six years, was recognized for sales in excess of 1.5 million dollars. Joining Joyce in' receiving top honors was Christine Fullone who, with only 18 months in real estate, produced in excess of 1 million dollars in sales during 1982.

Realty World-Realty 1, one of the oldest real estate firms in the area, is headed by Elbert Hargesheimer, Jr. and John N. Ely and has consistently been a leader in residential "and commercial sales, property appraisals and realty services throughout. the Southtowns. v-V to from neighborhood schools.

Mrs. Susan B. Daniels, the Library Director, reported that 1982 was a good year for the three Town of Hamburg Libraries. Circulation increased 4 percent at Hamburg, 7 percent at Blasdell and 4 percent at Lake Shore. The Hamburg branch, with a circulation of 203,006 books and materials loaned, is the 6th busiest library in the whole County Library System.

Total circulation in three Hamburg Libraries was 335,388. Besides loaning books, records and art prints, the libraries were busy providing programs. 154 story hour ses-. sions were attended by 4,168 pre-schoolers, while 6,094 school-age children attended the library in 276 class visits CMnsmic raunic Leberman Earns Juniata Scholarship Township Firemen tevcrcd 4,035 Cs The nine volunteer fire companies in the Town of Hamburg answered to 4,036 alarms of fire and first aid by the Hamburg Fire Alarm Office. The breakdown by department shows: Armor 290, Big Tree 562, Blasdell 357, Hamburg 724, Lake Shore 555, Lake View 307, Newton-Abbott 393, Scranton 588 and Woodlawn 262.

There were 42 structure fires, 76 vehicle, 129 false alarms, 478 misc. and 149 Mutual Aid requests brought the total to 874 fire related Ambualnce requests were for 351 auto accidents, 2240 house and other locations, 13 false alarms, 263 misc. and 295 Mutual Aid requests for a total of 3162 alarms. The Towns of Boston, North Boston, Patchin, Eden, East Eden, and Colden had a total of 713 fire and first aid alarms. Air Force Promotes Staff Sgt Rauch Parker A.

Rauch, son of Mr. and Mrs! Loren Rauch of Hamburg, has been promoted to Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He is presently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as an Air Force instructor for heavy equipment operator where he resides with his wife, the former Laura Smith and son. Mrs.

Rauch is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Smith of Hamburg. Rauch' has recently been awarded the Air Force Commendation medal for meritorious service as the noncommissioned -'officer in charge of vehicle control for the 317th Civil Engineering Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, North Collins.

Paul R. Leberman of Ham--burg has been awarded the J. Melvin and Rhoda Metz Rhodes Scholarship for the 1982-83 academic year at Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa. This scholarship is provided by Dr. and Mrs.

Rhodes who served the; College in various capacities. Dr. Rhodes was representative, dean of students and director of ad missions from 1939-52, while Mrs. Rhodes was assistant treasurer from 1942-52. The grant "is made to worthy students and may continue for four years if the recipient maintains a satisfactory record.

A freshman biology major, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Leberman of Ockler and a 1982 graduate of Hamburg High School. JOYCE BEARSS Heads County GOP Search Committee Mrs.

Joyce Bearss of Clifton Pkwy. heads the 1983 Candidate Search Committee of the Erie County Republican Committee whose members also included two other Hamburg residents. Gertrude Christ of Mount Vernon Blvd. and Lorraine Ignasiak of Lake View. "The committee seeks to encourage any and all who desires to run for county office." said Victor N.

Farley, GOP county chairman. He said he was especially interested in a strong candidate for County Clerk. Members of the committee can be contacted individually or through Erie County Republican Headquarters at 856-7800. Eckhardt Pledged To College Sorority Karen Eckhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Nelson Eckhardt of Hamburg, was recently pledged to Phi Gamma Chapter of Delta Delta Delta sorority at Michigan State University.
