Dr. Jones was born near Fredericton, N.B. in 1914. He held degrees from the University of New Brunswick and McGill University in Montreal. Before coming to the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1971, Dr.

Jones was Surgeon in Chief of the Reddy Memorial Hospital, Montreal and was also assistant Professor of Surgery at McGill University, During the War Dr. Jones served as a Medical Officer with the 422 and 401 Squadrons of the Royal Canadian Air Force Over-. seas.
