THE WISCONSIN JEWISH CHRONICLE November 25, 1949 A Betrothed to Green Bay Man Geraldine Austrian and Lowell Grossman Wed in Temple Rites SOCIAL and PERSONAL Denver Marriage of Couple is Revealed Denver, was the setting of the recent marriage of Miss Thel-ma Forman, daughter of Mrs. Anna Forman of Milwaukee, to Myer Schaffner, also of Milwaukee. The marriage took place on Oct. 6. The newlyweds will make their home in Denver.

Former Milwaukeean Wins South Bend Girl Announcement of the engagement of their daughter, Elsie, to Dr. Solvin W. Tonkens, comes from her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Minkoff, South Bend, Ind.

Dr. Tonkens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Tonkens, formerly of Milwaukee, and now of Kansas City, Mo.

The marriage will take place in South Bend on Jan. 6. The young couple will make their home in Kansas City, Mo. Miss Ira Safer, N. Thirty-sixth was maid of honor.

Her dress of turquoise taffeta was styled with an off the shoulder neckline. Misses Donna and Nancy Ausman, cousins of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of tor-q noise and lilac taffeta, and carried colonial bouquets of pink chrysanthemums and pompoms. Acting as his brother's best man was Gerald Grossman. Kenneth Ausman, the bride's brother, and Sanford Kaiser, performed the ushering duties.

LOWELL GROSSMAN Wearing a candlelight satin dress with a fitted bodice and portrait neckline, the bride's fingertip veil was secured by a tiara of rhinestoncs and seed pearls. She carried a corsage of white pompons and chrysanthemums centered with a white orchid.

I DELORES SOLOMON The engagement of their daughter, Delores, to Nathan W. Hol-man, was announced by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice A. Solomon, N.

Comedy takes on new meaning in the person of Bob Sherman, as Bob does his pantomimic impressions and vocal specialties. As an extra-added feature the ever-popular Pepe of rumba fame will do his sensational Afro-Cuban native dance, Baia, in authentic costume.

Highlight of the evening's entertainment will be Flora Cohen of Milwaukee, world-renowned marambist. Among Mrs. Cohen's many accomplishments as a concert marimbist was her appearance at Carnegie hall as a featured soloist. Accompanying Mrs. Cohen will be Dr.

Seymour Letco, also of Milwaukee. tired in a gown ot purple crepe trimmed with crystal beads. She wore gun metal gray accessories. Mrs. Grossman was dressed in taupe crepe with bronze bead trim.

Her accessories were bronze. Both mothers wore purple orchid corsages. Following a honeymoon in New York city, the couple will return to their home on W. Wisconsin ave. The young people attended the University of Wisconsin.

Engagement of U. W. Couple Announced Dr. and Mrs. S.

J. Faber, Racine, announce the engagement of their daughter, Iris Joan, to Gilbert Samuel Rosenberg, Madison. Mr. and Mrs. A.

J. Rosenberg are the parents of the prospective bridegroom. The betrothed couple are students at the University of Wisconsin where Miss Faber is a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi, and Mr. Rosenberg is affiliated with Phi Sigma Delta. The reading of the play will be given by Mrs.

Ruth Danks who has previously demonstrated the power, talent, and creative ability neerled to give this play its full dramatic impact. In issuing an invitation to the community to attend the annual meeting Edward R. Prince, president of the Jewish Vocational Service, stated, "Through our placement, vocational guidance, and refugee program the Jewish Vocational Service is reaching into every home of our Jewish community. We are anxious to familiarize every member of our community with our work and the problems we face. I should like to welcome everyone to our annual meeting to enjoy this very interesting program." Mrs. Libkin is the former Ethel Mae Kollus. daughter of Mrs. Betty Kollus, N. Maryland ave.

Plan Institute on Chanukah Celebration A community wide training institute for parents on the theme of "How to Celebrate Hanukah at Home," will he held Nov. 28 and Dec. 5 at the Jewish Community Center. The Jewish Community Center in cooperation with the Bureau of Jewish Education, the l'TA's of the Hebrew schools, the Hadassah and B'nai Il'nth chapters will jointly sponsor the two day institute. The institute will be open to all parents in the community desirioiis of learning ways and means of making the holiday of Hanukah more meaningful and significant to their children.

Hanukah games, songs, home decorations and food will be discussed and demonstrated at this institute. Hanukah this year will be observed from Dec. 16 to Dec. 23. All parents are invited to attend the two meetings.
