She has earned the Parachutist Badge. French is married to Major Rick French who serves as the 7th Infantry Division's Deputy Fire Support Coordinator, Ft. Carson.

They have two children, Ryan, four years old and Katherine, twenty-one months old. French is the daughter of Carol and Harold Knapp, Jr. of Glen Rock.
