GR Native Assumes Command of Squadron from the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and then returned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA. While in the 3ID, she deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Desert Fox. In Aug. 2001, she assumed her most recent assignment to Ft.

Carson, CO. French's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leak Clusters, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. She has earned the Parachutist Badge. French is married to Major Rick French who serves as the 7th Infantry Division's Deputy Fire Support Coordinator, Ft. Carson.

They have two children, Ryan, four years old and Katherine, twenty-one months old. French is the daughter of Carol and Harold Knapp, Jr. of Glen Rock. Lieutenant Colonel Kristin Knapp French, a native of Glen Rock, assumed command of Support Squadron, Third Armored Calvary Regiment, Ft. Carson, Colorado, on June 7, at Pershing Field.

The Muleskinner Squadron is composed of about 1,000 troopers with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, Medical Troop, Maintenance Troop, Company, 158 Aviation, 89th Chemical Company, and Supply and Transportation Troop with the proud tradition of going wherever the Regiment goes and providing the continuous, uninterrupted logistical support necessary to accomplish any mission.
