PHOTO Ribbons for Recovery On Sunday, Oct. 28 Glen Rock Brownie Troop 1253 held a successful fundraiser called "Ribbons for Recovery." The girls made yellow ribbons out of paper and sold them at Kil-roy's Wondermarket.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward assisting the recovery of Lance lunker, a member of the 82nd Airborne unit, who was wounded in Irag on Sept. 9. He is currently recovering from head and back injuries in a military hospital in Georgia. They were also defenders of freedom at a time when their country needed them most. Today they are dying at a rate of about 1,000 a day. But the stories of World War II veterans live on. Through a cooperative effort of American Legion Post 145 and the Glen Rock school district, the stories of about 25 Glen Rock veterans have been compiled in a booklet that tells the tales of a diverse group of service men and women, drawn together by a singular duty. The booklet is currently available for viewing at the Glen Rock incumbent.
