Ian Burnett, minister of SL Andrew's, conducted the service, and was assisted by Rev. Canon G. P. Woollcombe. founder -of Ashbury College.

Mr. Burnett also officiated at the graveside In Beech wood cemetery. Many Stand Half an hour before the funeral service mourners began to fill the church. When the service began there wasat a seat left. Many friends stood quietly outside the door.

CoL Newcombe Is survived 'by his wife, the former Jessy B. Hutchison: one daughter, Elizabeth, at home, and one son, E. Peter Newcombe. a student at Os- goode Bail. Toronto.

CoL Newcombe was aq active member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club, the Rideau Club, and the Ottawa Country Club. Members of the clubs were among the hundreds paying final' tribute to his memory. Ushers at the 1 church were George Mcllraith. MP, D. Roy Kennedy, KC, G.y P.

F. Folkes, psstor of the church. Interment will bel made In Maple Grove cemetery, Shawvllle. Mr. Dagg was born In Clarendon township 79 years ago, the son of Richard Dagg and Jane Hodglns, who lived on the seventh concession.

He was married tn 1890 to the former Jane Mc-KnighL and for 13 years lived In Clarendon, then for eight years In Shawvllle. In 1911 be look up farming a mile north of the village, and here he was a resident until 1943 when he retired to the village. About 13 years ago he had the misfortune to loee his eyeslghL Surviving him are his widow, one son Harold of Shawvllle, a granddaughter, Mrs. Freeman GranL a great granddaughter Constance OranL and two brothers, George and Edward Dag all of Clarendon. For years be was a 'member of the United church.

OHara ana Elmore A. Davis. Albert Honore Berard Dies in General Hospital Albert Honore Berard, S3 Montreal Road, died Friday In the General Hospital after a long 111-oees. He was tn his 61st year. Born and educated tn Montreal, he the son of the late Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Berard. He came Ottawa with his parents as a young man and has been employed by the- G. T. Green Company for the last 33 years.

Mr. Berard was married In Ottawa to the former Kathleen Bradly, who survives him. Surviving besides his wife are six sons. Albert; Ernest, Leon, Medric, Edmond Oscar, all of Ottawa, three daughters, Mrs. J.

Boudreeu and Misses Bernadette and Gabriel Berard, Ottawa. Also surviving Is one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted from Horace Racine and Robert on Monday to the Church of the Assumption for 'requiem mass at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
