BY KATHERINE MILSOP Staff Writer A man allegedly responsible for a drunk driving collision on July 13 that left two brother hospitalized with serious injuries was arrested At approximately 2:30 a.m., the Rochelle Park Police Department received a report of a single vehicle collision on Route 17 North near Passaic Street. Police at the scene determined that Edward J. Davis, 33, of Mahwah, who was operating the 2003 Range Rover, had left the roadway just north of Woodland Avenue and struck a utility police before rolling his SUV over onto its roof. As a result of the crash, Davis' two passengers were injured, according to police.

Front seat passenger Clint Callahan, 25, of Ramsey, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious internal injures. He underwent immediate surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC). His brother, James Callahan, 23, of Ramsey, who was sitting in the back seat, was also transported and admitted to HUMC with non-life-threatening facial injuries. Davis was transported to HUMC for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officers at the scene, and later at HUMC, made observations that led them to believe that Davis was driving while intoxicated.

Police said that follow-up investigation further revealed that Davis had been drinking prior to the collision. A blood sample was taken from Davis and will be submitted to the New Jersey State Police Laboratory for toxicological examination. As a result of the investigation, Davis was charged with one count SEE AUTO, PAGE 6 Boothe answered guestions from children during his visit to the library..
