L-6 THE RECORD OBITUARIES WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28, 2000 CAROLYN E. STEINBERGER BEHRENS. 81, of Ovicdo, formerly of North Bergen, died Monday. She had been a clerical worker for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in North Bergen.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fairview. Arrangements: Riewerts Memorial Home, Bergenfield. BOLESLAW L. BUDZYN, 79, of Toms River, formerly of Passaic, died Monday. Born in Poland, he came to the United States in 1947.

Before retiring in 1985, he was a mechanical engineer for AlliedSignal Teter-boro, where he worked for 10 years. A licensed professional engineer, he held several patents. He was a graduate of the New Jersey College of Engineering and held a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He was a former parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wellington.

He was founder of the Polish Youth Organization, co-founder of the Polish Choir Aria, founder and president of the PWST School Alumni Association, and served on the board of directors of the Polish People's Home, Wellington. He was involved in the reopening of Adam Mickiewicz School, Passaic, where he was a teacher, and the formation of a Wellington Scout troop. He was a member of the Passaic chapter of the Polish-American Congress. He was a Holocaust survivor. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wellington.

HELEN M. O'NEILL CARROLL, 88, of Hackensack died Sunday. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Brooklyn and the Hackensack Seniors. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack.

(Casey) was born on September 27, 1926 in Lodi, NJ to the union of Benjamin and Katherine Veryzer Bruinooge, who are both deceased. Casey graduated from Lodi High School in 1943 and entered the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II. From 1 944 to 1 946, he served as a Naval Air Gunner, Bombardier, and Avia tion Ordinance Man in the Atlantic and Pacific convoy air support. He attended Lafayette College in Eas ton, PA, graduating in 1951 with a B.S.

Degree in Civil Engineering. He joined Standard Oil Development Company (later to be known as Esso Research and Engineering Company) as a member of con struction Resident Engineers office, building oil refineries and chemical plants in Bombay, India, Sumatra, and Koln, Germany. After 10 years of major overseas assign ments, he joined Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation as a Cost Engi neer. He also worked in the U.S Central FWC office in New York and New Jersey. In 1986, he retired after 26 years of service as a Man ager of Construction Planning, Scheduling, Project Cost Control and Construction Estimating.

He came to Houston in 1971 transferring with the Construction Depart ment of FWC from New Jersey to the Houston Branch office. From 1986 to 1994, he was a consultant to Barlow Associates. A former member of the Lodi Zoning Board serving 2 years, he then joined the Lodi Fire Department as a volun teer member to the Rescue Truck Company and became a volunteer exempt fireman and a life member of the New Jersey Exempt Fire man's Association. Casey had been a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers since 1967. He served on the National Associa tion Board as Technical Director from 1984 to 1986.

He was a certi fied AACE Cost EngineerCost Con sultant, a member of the Certifica tion board until 1993, and a local member of the Houston Gulf Coast Section of AACE. Casey was a handyman, a friend of the neighborhood, and a supplier of odds and ends for home fix-ityourself projects. He was always known for never having had a car in his garage only his tools, parts, wood ana files. He was a member of Peace Community Church, Bear Creek, in Houston, TX, which is a Christian Reformed Denomination. He will be greatly missed by all.

Casey is survived by his wife, Adel M. Seed Bruinooge, whom he married in 1953; his daughter, Linda M. Du-dark, of Woodway, TX, and her husband, Bill: three grandchildren: Casey Lee, William Roy. and Katey Lyn Dudark; brother, Benjamin A. Bruinooge and his wife, Roberta, of Prospect Park, NJ and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Lynn, in 1990. and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. and Ethyl Bruinooge. There will be a cremation with burial in the family plot in Lodi Cemetery Lodi, NJ. Memorials in Casey's name may be made to Peace Community Church Budding Fund.
