She was a member of a Montclair-based writers' group, the Montclair Community Chorus, and the Unitarian Church of Montclair. Mrs. Feuer was predeceased by her husband, Karl, in 1983. Surviving Mrs.

Feuer are two sons, William J. and Robert a daughter, Karla Feuer Falk; two brothers, John and William Mutch; and four granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel Feuer, and Julia and Jessica Falk. Services were held in the Arthur K. Brown Funeral Home, Bloom-field, on May 12. master's degree in finance from New York University in 1944.

During World War II, Mr. Scott was a B-17 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force, and flew 28 missions from Barre, Italy, which bombed railroads and other important military sites in Germany. He was discharged in 1945, having attained the rank of major. Mr.

Scott worked for Irving Trust Co. in New York City from 1945 to 1970, and was a vice president in charge of credit, specializing in utility financing. From 1970 until 1985, Mr. Scott worked for Public Service Electric Gas Co. in Newark, as a senior financial vice president.

A member of the Essex County Country Club and the Mid-Ocean Club of Bermuda, Mr. Scott also was a parishioner of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church, West Orange. Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Beverly (nee Blackwell); a daughter, Barbara Scott Clark of Algona, Iowa; a son, William Bradford of Hinsdale, and seven grandchildren. A funeral service was held on May 16, at St.

Luke's Episcopal Church. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Dr. James Pi-Sunyer, 96, of New York City and Pompano Beach, a former Montclair resident, died on Friday, May 12, at his home. Born in Barcelona, Spain, Dr.

Pi-Sunyer had lived in Massachusetts, Chile, France, Mexico, and Montclair (1945-1959), before maintaining dual-residences in New York and Pompano Beach. Dr. Pi-Sunyer was a medical director and vice president of Winthrop Products, a division of Sterling Drug, before retiring in 1968. Prior to that he had worked for the medical department of Hoffmann-La Roche, had been a professor of physiology and pharmacology at the Polytechnic University Medical School in Mexico, and also was the founder and first professor of the department of physiology at the Pontifical University in Santiago, Chile. A graduate of the University of Barcelona School of Medicine, Dr.

Pi-Sunyer attended Harvard Medical School as a Rockefeller Fellow in physiology. He continued his research at the University of Barcelona and at Yale University. He completed a doctorate in physiology at the University of Madrid. He won a faculty position by com Fred J. Fred J.

Guensch, 69, of Milford, died on Tuesday, May 9, at Mercy Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. Born in Newark, Mr. Guensch lived in Montclair during the 1970s. Mr. Guensch was a manager and floor covering installer for Upper Montclair Flooring for many years.

He was a member for many years of the Commonwealth Club in Montclair. Surviving Mr. Guensch are his WILLIAM SCOTT William Scott, 80, of Upper Montclair, died on Wednesday, May 10, at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach. Born in Brooklyn, Mr.

Scott lived in Westfield before moving to Upper Montclair 38 years ago. Mr. Scott was a graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Class of 1941, with a bachelor's degree in science. He earned his Joan Mutch Feuer, 70, of Mont-clair, died on Wednesday, May 10, in Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. Born in Passaic, Mrs.

Feuer lived in Haddonfield, Montclair, and Miami, later returning to Montclair. A resident of Montclair for much of her life, Mrs. Feuer graduated from Montclair High School. She received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa. Mrs.

Feuer was employed by Pan American Airways and Swiss Air in the early years of aviation. Later she worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. She was an editor for the Mobil Travel Guides and Bur- Leonard M. Leonard M. Salzarulo, 72, of Cedar Grove, died on Tuesday, May 9, at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge.

Born in Montclair, Dr. Salzarulo moved to Cedar Grove 29 years ago. Dr. Salzarulo received both his bachelor of science and master's degrees from the Newark College of Engineering, and his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served during peace time. He had a long, distinguished career at The New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark as an educator, administrator, and researcher. Edith Tilkin Edith Tilkin Rosenfield, 92, of Montclair died on Sunday, May 14, at Kessler Cedar Grove. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m., at Temple N'er Tamid on Broad Street in Bloomfield.

Born in Neppapatrov, the Ukraine, Mrs. Rosenfield came to the United States at the age of 18 to join her mother and four brothers in Baltimore, Md. She also resided in Larchmont, N.Y, for many years, and settled in Montclair in 1992. She and her late husband, labor John Henry Walker Salzarulo He served as assistant chairperson, and then as chairman of physics, for many years. Dr.

Salzarulo wrote two books, and was published extensively. He was well-known as a pioneer in chemical kenetics research. Surviving Dr. Salzarulo are his wife, Maria (nee Graziella); a daughter, Marie Lasher of West Orange; a sister, Delia Rizzo of Nut-ley; and a brother, Michael of Nut-ley. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 12, at St.

Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, Cedar Grove, with interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Rosenfield organizer Abe Rosenfield, helped to found a temple in Larchmont. Mrs. Rosenfield was a founding member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union.

In addition, Mrs. Rosenfield worked in the Head Start program in Mamaroneck, N.Y, for more than 20 years. Predeceased in 1998 by her husband of more than 60 years, Abe, Mrs. Rosenfield is survived by her two sons, Stephen of Montclair and Mary of Israel; and two grandsons. years, Ms.

Oliver was a member of the senior choir. Ms. Oliver is survived by two daughters, Christine M. Wood and Jean E. Engs; a brother, William Oliver; sisters-in-law, Louise M.

Oliver and Mercedes Oliver; a son-in-law, Robert F. Engs; grandchildren, Bryan and Kirk Stephens; Robin Collier; Robert Wood and Robert N. Engs; and 13 great-grandchildren. A service was held in St. Paul Baptist Church on May 11.

Interment was in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Donald Quincy Greene Bessie Roselie Oliver petition at the University of Santiago de Compostela, just as the Spanish Civil War broke out, and was unable to accept the post. Instead, Dr. Pi-Sunyer became a volunteer with the medical corps of the loyalist (Republican) side during the Spanish Civil War, beginning in 1936, and served in the Aragon front and at a military hospital in the monastery of Montserrat in Catalonia. Escaping with his family to France, Dr.

Pi-Sunyer then went to Mexico. Dr. Pi-Sunyer was a member of a number of European, Latin American and North American medical and biological societies, including the New York Academy of Medicine and the New York Academy of Sciences. He was the recipient of honorary degrees from the University of San Carlos, Guatemala, the Catholic University of Santiago, Chile, and the Instituto Brasileiro of Sao Paolo, Brazil. Predeceased by his wife Mercedes in 1990 and one daughter, Berta, in 1992, Dr.

Pi-Sunyer leaves four children, James F. Xavier MD, Louis and Linda Grogan; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Cassian's Church yesterday, May 17. Guensch wife, Audrey Bauer Guensch; a daughter, Lisa M.

of Budd Lake; a son, Frederick Ronald of Shohola, and two brothers, Albert of Wayside and Ronald of Maplewood. A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated on May 12, at St. Patrick's Church in Milford. Interment will be at the family's convenience. Memorial donations may be made to S.E.P.O.A., RR2, Box 2904, Shohola, Pa.

Mr. Walker, who had served as assistant superintendent of schools for Nutley since 1996, began his career as an educator in the Nutley Public School system in 1964, with his appointment as a sixth-grade teacher at Washington Elementary School.

He taught there for nine years. In September of 1973, Mr. Walker was named principal at Yan-tacaw Elementary School, where he served as administrator for 23 years. Mr. Walker also served as a basketball coach at Nutley High School from 1967 to 1971.

As superintendent of schools, Mr. Walker supervised curriculum development, hiring, and teacher evaluations. He oversaw the "English as a Second Language" programs, and helped with the coordination of special education programs. Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Walker moved to Montclair many years ago.

Having graduated from South Bernard Bernard Henry Maas, 88, of Upper Montclair, died on Saturday, May 13, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Born in Wiedenbruck, Germany, Mr. Maas immigrated to the United States in 1912, settling in Newark. He later moved to Ridgefield, and then to Montclair 20 years ago.

At the age of 17, Mr. Maas joined the American Stock Exchange as a dividend clerk in the listing department. He rose through the ranks to become a leading Wall Street expert on domestic and foreign listings, and was vice president in charge of the securities division. Mr. Maas was a member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Donald (Pee-Wee) Quincy Greene, 73, a Montclair resident, died on Saturday, May 6 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Cedar Grove. Mr. Greene was born in Appomattox County, Va. He is survived by his sons, Cornal of Prospect, Adric of Hampton-Sydney, and Thurston of Tucson, daughters, Gretna Jackson; Deborah and Paula of Prospect, Charles Charles J. Turpan, 70, of Upper Montclair, died on Wednesday, May 10.

Mr. Turpan lived in Montclair for most of his life. He graduated from Montclair High School in 1948 and the University of Bridgeport in 1952 with a bachelor of science degree. Mr. Turpan served in the U.S.

Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954, and was discharged with the rank of Bessie Roselie Oliver, 93, of East Orange, died on Friday, May 5, in Pope John Paul II Pavilion, Orange. Born in Chase City, Ms. Oliver moved from Virginia in the 1920s to Hackensack, and then to Montclair, where she lived for 43 years. In 1963, she relocated to East Orange, where she lived until the time of her death. Ms.

Oliver worked at Westing-house in Bloomfield, in the lamp division, from 1947 until her retirement in 1972. A faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church for more than 50 Side High School (now Shabazz), where he was a star athlete, in 1950, Mr. Walker attended Howard University on a full atthletic scholarship. After completing his first year, he enlisted in the U.S.

Air Force, serving for four years during the Korean War as a medic. Mr. Walker returned to school, attending Seton Hall University, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in 1964 and his master of arts in education in 1969. He completed post-graduate work at Rutgers University, Monmouth College, and Jersey City College. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughters, Bridget Walker, Johnavia Walker, Kimberley Walker-White; a son, John sisters, Bernice Harvey, Mary Washington, and Dorothy Harriott; seven grandchildren, Sara-vati Walker, Johnetta Walker, Brian-na Walker, John Pringle, Jonathan Walker, Clifford White, and Dante White.

He was predeceased by his brother, Anderson Walker, Jr. Services were held in St. Paul Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 16. Henry Maas In 1976, as Mr. Maas reached mandatory retirement age, he continued to work a 40-hour week as a consultant for the marketing division of the Stock Exchange, reviewing all prospecti issued by domestic and international companies seeking to list on the Exchange.

He served as an international liaison for the Federal Internationale des Bourse Valours, and handled special assignments for the chairman. In 1994, after 65 years, Mr. Maas retired from the American Stock Exchange. Mr. Maas is survived by his wife, Anna Mae, and his son, Bernard Gordon.
