THE WISCONSIN JEWISH CHRONICLE September 1, 1967 Miss Lynda Rene Ferstadt Is Bride of David Allen Kimme Zacharias-Kaplan Nuptials Held At Emanu-El B'ne Jeshurun Candlelight Ceremony Unites Gail Heitman and Stanley Laber November Wedding For Janet Sue Kress The engagement of Miss Janet Sue Kress to Irwin Marshall Miller has been announced by her crepe with a beaded top. The young Mrs. Laber wore a beige linen suit as she and her Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she obtained her bachelor of science degree in speech therapy. She is affiliated with Kappa Delta Pi honor society in education. Her husband, a graduate of UWM with a bachelor of science degrae in economics, is studying for his master's degree in economics.

He is affiliated with Delta Tau Kappa honor society in social science. The newlyweds are on a wedding trip to Illinois and A of Mrs. Harold Kaplan, Mt. Vernon, N. and the late Mr.

Kaplan. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zacharias, N. Cambridge, came down the aisle in a floating cage gown of organza embroidered in an all over design of delicately etched diamonds.

The train was gathered at the back yoke and fell to full chapel length. Her three tier veil was attached to a spray of daisies and she carried a white orchid surrounded by white roses. Bridal attendants wore yellow organza cages with yellow daisies scattered about bodice and hem. Mrs. Charles Grossman, Los Angeles, was her cousin's matron of honor, while the Misses Lynne Ketchum, N.

Prospect, and Sue Pepper, Woodmere, N. were bridesmaids. Miss Nancy Rice, N. Regent cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid and Miss Deborah Goller, Los Angeles, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Eric Goller, Los Angeles, was best man, with Allen M.

Zacharias, the bride's brother, and Michael Goldberg, Brooklyn, N. as groomsmen. For their children's wedding, both mothers selected turquoise Miss Judith Lynne Zacharias and Kenneth Franklin Kaplan were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 26, in an 8:30 pan. MRS.

KENNETH F. KAPLAN ceremony at Congregation Emanu-El B'ne Jeshurun. Rabbi Stanley Davids officiated at the rites which were followed by a reception at the Jewish Community Center. The couple repeated their vows before Rabbi Bernard Reichman in a nine o'clock ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 19. The groom is the son of Mrs. Faye Levine, N. 44th and the late Morris Laber.

Given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Reitman, the bride donned a gown of Alen-con lace over peau de soie. Her illusion veil was attached to a petaled headpiece detailed with pearls. She carried a single white orchid with a spray of white roses.

The groom's sister, Mrs. Elliot Lubar, N. 100th was matron of honor. Her gown of yellow crepe was set off by gold lace rising from the empire waistline. She carried white daisies with gold ribbon.

Bridesmaids, the Misses Deborah Blankstein, W. Congress, and Sheila Muchin, Manitowoc, cousins of the bride, Mrs. Daniel Besser, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Martin Goldstein, N. Frederick, were attired in A-line dresses of mint green linen with Nile green trim at the empire waist and on the bell sleeves.

They carried bouquets of yellow daisies with Nile green ribbon. Serving as best man was the groom's brother-in-law, Dale Ul-mer, Des Moines, Iowa. Martin Barnes, N. 44th Daniel Besser, Highland Park, 111., Elliot Lubar, N. 100th another brother-in-law of the groom, and Lawrence and Allan Reitman, the bride's brothers, were ushers.

Mrs. Reitman chose a light green and silver metallic jacket over a long skirt. Mrs. Levine was garbed in a long skirt of gold 27. Maternal grandparents are Mr.

Keefe are the paternal grandparents. Lt. Wagner will leave Ft. Leonard Wood in October for Viet Nam. A son, Andrew Kurt, has been born to Mr.

Israelite Sanctuary TEL AVIV (JTA) An ancient Israelite sanctuary and a fortress, both dating back to the days of King Solomon, were almost completely uncovered at Tel Arad, it was reported.

Miss Lisa Ellen Ferstadt was the flower girl. Best man was Allan Birndorf, with Stanley Ferstadt, Elliott Glinberg and Norman Malmon as groomsmen. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Untriff of California, grandparents of the bride, were also in the procession.

From Omaha, Nebraska comes news of the birth of a son, Andrew Todd, to Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Schmidt. Andrew was born on Aug. 15.

Also welcoming him home were two brothers, Scott Harlan, age 5Vfe, and Daniel Brian, age IVz, and a sister, Lisa Beth, age 2z. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. David Dubin, N. 48th st.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schmidt, N. 51st blvd. are the paternal grandparents.

A daughter, Annde Ellen, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Gimbel, N. Spruce on Aug. 14.

Annde weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces when she arrived at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was also welcomed by a sister, Deborah, age ZVz. Mr. and Mrs.

Ivan Weinstein, N. 78th are the maternal grandparents. Paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Gimbel.

Julie Beth is the name chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald J. Bloch, N. Ardmore for their first child, born on Aug.

Retarded Children Assn. to Benefit from Models' Charity Fashion Show Earl Gillespie, WITI, and Judy Marks, WTMJ, radio and TV personalities will serve as master and mistress of ceremonies for the 14th Annual Charity Fashion Show, Sept. 12, at the Pfister Hotel. The show is sponsored annually by the Milwaukee Society of Models as a community service project in support of United Association for Retarded Children's programs. The show theme is, "Gateway to Fashion." Twenty manufacturers and stores from Milwaukee and Wisconsin are contributing fashions, according to Mrs.

Greg Parker, general chairman. Members of the Milwaukee Society of Models serving as committee chairmen of the charity show are: Miss Karen Perry, co-chairman; Mrs. Robert Boehlein, fashion; Mrs. Rod Autz, publicity; Mrs. John Harrington, advertising; Mrs.

Robert Ripp, ticket and costumes; Mrs. Arthur Polacheck, table decorations and seating; Mrs. Sheldon Forman, finances and editing; and Mrs. Thomas Vander Pluym, patrons. The past thirteen shows spon-sorsd by the models have produced over $93,581 which has been invested in day care and parent-child home training programs serving the retarded.

Miss Arlene Ruth Bear, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving P. Bear, N. Point was married to Timothy George Mayer on Sunday, Aug.

27. He is the son of Mr. MRS. TIMONTHY G. MAYER and Mrs.

C. O. Mayer, Los Angeles, Calif. The wedding, which took place at 3:30 p.m. at the Chalet on the Lake in Mequon and was officiated by Rabbi Harry B.

Pastor, was followed by a dinner and reception at the Chalet. The bride appeared in a Chan-tilly lace tunic cage over a pure silk sheath. The gown had a squared chapel length train. When the couple left on their wedding trip to Expo '67 in Montreal, Canada, the young Mrs. Mayer was garbed in a long sleeved grey and white striped knit with a sleeveless grey coat. She wore black patent accessories. The bride attended the University of Wisconsin, Milton College, and San Fernando Valley State College.

Regent graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in history and science. Mr. Sennett is the recipient of the Drabkin Senior Prize in history and science for his thesis, "Aristotle's Theory of Respiration." He will enter the Harvard University school of medicine in the fall. Edward F. Anhalt, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Jack Anhalt, N. 47th has been selected by the Peace Corps to serve in the T. E. F.

L. (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) program. He will serve in Iran for two years. Mr. Anhalt is a June graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Piano Recital at College of Music on Sept. 3 Miss Batya Elbaum, a June graduate of John Marshall High School, will present a piano recital at the Wisconsin College of Music on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m. As a graduating senior, Miss Elbaum was given the civic music award for her services to the music department as pianist for numerous musical presentations in the high school. She was student musical director, assisting Robert Beduhn, for the school's production of "Music Man," pianist for last winter's presentation of Hay-den's "The Creation," and accompanist for the 1966 production of "Bye Bye Birdie." A pupil of Miss Leah Ina Cooks, her recital will include works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Khacha-turian, Mozart and Grieg.
