Hall of Fame announces inductees Soccer Raider girls persevere Page 14 15 The Nutley Hall of Fame Committee has announced its 2015 inductees including Dr. Richard A. Albanese, Ken Eulo, Bernadette Ferraro, Thomas Francisco, Susan Narucki, Hermanus Brown (posthumously) and Jackie Paris (posthumously). A fifth inductee may be added. Dr.

Richard A. Albanese is a Nutley High School graduate with an undergraduate degree from Princeton and a medical degree from Columbia. He has been involved with research, particularly studying the effects of electromagnetic emanations from devices on human tissues. NHS alumnus Ken Eulo is a national best seller whose novels have sold more than 13 million copies. He is also a Eugene O'Neill-winning playwright and has written for television as well.

Bernadette Ferraro overcame obstacles to become a biomedical scientist. She holds several degrees, including a doctorate, and has authored or co-authored many scientific papers. NHS graduate Thomas Francisco has had a long career in photography, graphic design and fine arts. He has won wide recognition and prestigious awards. Grammy Award-winning soprano Susan Narucki lived in Nutley for more than 20 years.

Her career is international, including a soloist with leading symphony orchestras, appearances throughout Europe in various musical forms and a number of recordings. Hermanus Brown was a private in the Revolutionary war. He the first Nutley resident to perish in the uprising against the British following the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Jackie Paris, born in Nutley in 1926, was a legendary singer and guitarist, who worked with the great jazz musicians of his time.

A number of his recordings are classics, and he won many jazz polls and awards. He was the subject of the 2006 documentary "Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris." Started in 2003, Nutley Hall of Famers are presented biennially. The basic criteria is someone born in Nutley, a resident for at least 10 years or a Nutley High School graduate, any of whom have made achievements at the state, national or international level that engenders community pride. A distinguished panel of judges determine the merits of the each nominee, choosing inductees independent of the committee. The Nutley Hall of Fame's seventh induction ceremony will take place from 2 to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Nutley Public Library. Admission is $40 and includes champagne and wine, a selection of gourmet finger foods by Tarik Huggins, desserts and coffee.
