April 1, 1924. January 24,2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Olive. She passed away with a positive and caring attitude. Olive was born the second child in Hardy to the farm family of Nora and Clark Stokes. After attending school in Regina, she worked in an insurance company and a bank as a steno.

She could still write in shorthand. Olive met Ernie at Young People's Regina. After they were married and moved to Kamsack where Ernie worked in a bank, Gary was born. Karen, Blaine and Warren were born while they farmed near Lumsden. Olive and Ernie never missed a school or church event and often spent time with other children's displays at school.

Olive loved to roll pastry and many slices of pie were sent in lunches. Her butter tarts were unrivaled. A lemon meringue pie was auctioned off as a fund raiser at school and brought in $25.00. That was a lot of money in the sixties. Mom loved to visit on the phone and she loved to watch sports on TV.

Mom will be missed by all who knew her. She knew everyone's birthday and most years of birth (which she never disclosed). She could never understand how anyone could forget their family member's birthday when she reminded them. Special hugs and thanks to all of her friends (residents and staff) at Hewitt Place and Mutchmor Lodge. Many thanks to the staff at Home Care, Pasqua and General hospitals, along with her final care at Grace Hospice.

Also a special thanks to her many friends near and far. She is survived by her children Gary (Lois) of Saskatoon their children en Mike of Outlook. Mark (Shelley Chalmers) of Saskatoon, Tiffany (Gavin) Little of Edmonton: Karen (Ken) Gienow of Regina and their children Joan (Dustin Ormiston) of Regina and Dan of Toronto: Blaine (Crystal) and his daughter Heather of Regina; Warren (Cheryl) and their daughters Tianna and Kaylee of Lumsden. At Olive's request, there will be a private family service at a later date. Typical of Ernie, he waited for her and they will be laid to rest together in Lumsden.

Consider this one last Birthday Card for you from Olive: Begin your birthday with this prayer here and remember to say it every day of the year. Good Morning, God! You are ushering in a new day Untouched and freshly new So here come to ask you, God.

If you'll renew me, too. Forgive the many errors That I made yesterday And let me try again, dear God To walk closer in Thy way But Father I am well aware I can't make it on my own So take my hand and hold it tight For I can't walk alone.
