Stephen Depko, at Parkside Extendicare on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Steve was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mary, his brother Eugene and his parents Martin and Caroline. He is survived by his sister Mary Gorgichuk (her son Bill and daughter Jeannie) and sister in law Jan (Sissy) Depka (daughter Laura). Steve was born in Nienadowka, Poland in 1928 and immigrated to Canada at five months old with his parents.

As a young man Steve was very interested in mechanics, especially bikes and then cars. Steve was in the air force based in Moose Jaw where he worked as an airplane mechanic. This is where he began his relationship with Mary. He worked as a mechanic with Ford and then an AV technician with the Regina and Saskatoon school boards. Steve loved to repair and build clocks and watches.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his sons Steve (Kathy), Greg, Tim (Gloria), Rick (Karla): daughters Johann (Dale) Reding and Bernie (Derrick) Nagy: beloved grandchildren Michael, Tina (Riley), Stephen (Brittany), Aimee (Mike), Patrick, Jessica, Matthew, Nicole, Christopher (Jeny), Catherine, Noelle, Nathan, Josiah and Shelby: great-grandchildren Julie, Maddison, Emmalee and Kaetlyn. He was predeceased his parents Theresa Heck and Thomas Miller and stepfather John Heck.

Martin leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years Sandra Miller and his three sons; Martin Jr. (Charlen and their children Eric, Keanna and Kaylynn); Greg (Kelly and their Thomas); John (Michelle their children Dylan and Anthony). Martin is also survived by his sister Anna Mann (Pat and their daughter Lisa). Martin was born on April 5, 1936 in Keschenchy, Yugoslavia. Martin immigrated to Canada in 1953 where his first job was picking sugar beets on a farm near Lethbridge, Alberta.

Next Martin moved to the Lake of the Woods in Ontario where he worked in the forestry industry. Martin finally settled in Regina where he worked in a number of construction positions, the hospital laundry at the General Hospital and finally settling on a career with the Regina Public Library. Martin retired from the library as the Head of Maintenance in 1991 after 25 years of service. In retirement, Martin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The joy of his life was the family farm where he enjoyed nature, long walks and family and friends.

Martin passed away peacefully in his sleep at the farm he loved. Francis Solano Parish (Vancouver, BC) and St. Michael's Retreat (Lumsden, SK). He will be well remembered for his gentle manner in the many tasks he prayerfully undertook. One of thirteen children, he was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Florence, Helen, Mabel, Mary, Cecelia, Anthony, Leo, Sr. Mary Rose (Irene) and Agnes.
