Born January 4, 1921 on the homestead north west of Balgonie, SK, where she graduated from high school and began a career in banking. 1941 was courted by James Arthur Coles, R.C.A.F., and traveled to Ontario with him when he was called to serve overseas in WWII. During their long distance engagement, Marge worked chemical can plant in Welland, ON until Jim's return in 1945. They were married in Niagra Falls, ON on April 19, 1945 and soon after purchased a dairy farm north east of Balgonie.
