Weyburn, SK (842-6662) TRAQUAIR- Monday, July 14, 2003, James Ian Traquair, born November 30, 1920 on the family farm at Dafoe, Saskatchewan, passed away at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by his parents William and Agnes (Adams) Traquair and sister Elizabeth, he is survived by his wife Audrey (Dolan); sister Dorothy; children Keith (Tessa), Marion (Sid), Glen (Lillian) and Colin in (Joelle), and grandchildren Kia, Brooke, Lawren, Conor, Derek, Adrianna, Brianna, and Christopher. Born to Scottish homesteaders William and Agnes Traquair, on the family farm until joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941. He flew with the RCAF and the Royal Air Force overseas in the Middle East, North Africa, Italy, Burma and South East Asia.

He married Audrey Dolan in 1946, and together they operated the family farm until 1956 when Ian joined the field staff of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He had great respect for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, where he worked for thirty years. Ian was involved with adult educational programs and community development, and travelled widely throughout North America and Europe focusing on consumer and marketing co-operatives. He had a great love for music and the creative spirit, great respect for all living creatures, and his life's example taught us all so much about the importance of personal values and respect for others. He will be dearly missed by us all.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenve. Interment in Copeland Cemetery, Dafoe, SK at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to a charity of choice.

He is predeceased by his parents, Steve and Elma Thompson; three sisters: Rhea Thompson, June Wright and Rowena Silverthorn; and three brothers: Clarence, James and Roy Thompson. Ralph is survived by two special nephews: Lane (Valerie) Wright and Wayne (Barb) Wright; sisters-in-law: Flora Thompson of Calgary, AB; numerous nieces and Eastend, SK onda Barbara Thompson of nephews. Ralph used to say, 'Well I outlived them all'.

Now they're all together again. Ralph moved with his family to Avonlea in 1923 and resided there all his life with the exception of seven years spent living in Moose Jaw. He worked for many local Avonlea farmers and businesses, herded sheep, and delivered the Leader Post paper in Avonlea. When Ralph lived in Moose Jaw, he spent many hours at the Timothy Eaton Centre socializing and playing cards. Upon his return to Avonlea, he continued his socialization and card playing, happy to be among many old acquaintances.

He enioyed reading many library books and the newspapers he subscribed to. Ralph was a wealth of family history, easily recalling ready to tell you stories of his younger years. As part of the Living Legacy Planting Program, Parkview Funeral Chapel will have a tree planted in Wakamow Valley in Ralph's memory. BECKETT- Laura 'Jean', late of Balgonie, SK. passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the age of 80 years. REGINA FUNERAL HOME WESTRUM- -Leonard Frederick Westrum died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 09, 2003 at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital. He was born on August 12, 1913 on the NW Section 27, Township 13, Range 24 west of the second meridian near the villages of Briercrest and Hearne. He is predeceased by his brother Marvin, parents Selmer Mary, brother Helmer and granddaughter Kyla. Dad never lost his love for the Prairies and his association with farming and was extremely proud of his Norwegian Heritage. He and Mum established Westrum Lumber in 1953 a business now run in part by his son and grandson's. He enjoyed his retirement fishing, golfing, woodworking and talking with people. A celebration of life was held Saturday July 12 at the Central Senior Centre. Joyce was born on February 17, 1927 in Cupar was predeceased by her parents, William and Alice Hughes. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jim Gibson of Cupar; her children: Glenda (Dick) Huynink, Bill (Shelly) Gibson and Jamie Gibson; grandchildren: Tanner Huynink, Dustin Brody Gibson, and Danielle Gibson; her sisters, Eileen McLean and Modeland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce attended the Cupar School and then worked for the Royal Bank in Cupar and Lumsden.

After her marriage to Jim, she worked side by side with Jim on the farm south of Cupar, as well as working with Don and Willa Modeland in the dry goods business for many years. Joyce enioyed hockey games, ball games, golfing, playing cards, and singing and dancing. She spent many hours knitting and crocheting special items for her family. She supported her children in all their activities and always made her grandchildren feel special. Joyce was famous for her 'green thumb' and her flower and vegetable gardens were second to none.

Nightly cribbage games with Jim were an ongoing competition. Joyce will be sadly missed by all who knew her. REGINA FUNERAL HOME KIRSCH -Joseph passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the age of 65. Predeceased by his father George in 1909; nephew Kim Komodowski; nephew and godchild Curtis Cooper; sisters-in-law Terry and Diane Kirsch. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Doreen; sons Miles (Elizabeth), Ashley; daughter Holly (Alan) Crystal, Kaitlyn, Ryan; his mother Theresa; brothers Robert (Danush), Larry (Donna); sister Jeanette Teece (Richard); brothers and sister Diane Komodowski (Leonard) and Marilyn Cooper (George); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was a a a a a a a a a a truck driver for most of his life. He had a fantastic family life with whom he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

He had a sense of humor about him that touched the hearts of many. He loved visiting with family and friends. He was very family oriented and no one meant more to him than his family. He thoroughly enioyed his two grandchildren Ashley and Crystal who were the "light of his He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather who will be deeply missed but never ever forgotten. Special thanks to all the doctors and staff who took exceptional care of Joe at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.
