John was born December 15, 1946 to Boris and Rose Kaczynski. He attended Balfour High School and the University of Regina.

He recently retired from CP Rail, worked for the Centre of the Arts and has been employed with the Regina Exhibition Association for many years. John was predeceased by his parents and brother Walter. He is survived by his two loving sons John of Regina and Darrell of Calgary, long-time friend Karen (Sam) Evans, two nieces Carrie and Shauna Forshner and nephew Shane Forshner. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at 4:00 P.M. in Riverside Memorial Park, Regina, SK.

A reception will follow for family and friends at Queensbury Downs, Salon at 5:00 P.M. Arrangements ore in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8445 BATES, MARTHA EiLENE passed away on Friday, September 14, 2001. Martho was born on the family farm at Luseiand, SK. on August 5, 1915.

She grew up on the farm and attended high school in Luseiand and North Battleford. After graduation she attended Saskatoon Normal School. Her classroom teaching began in rural schools. In 1938 she married Lester Bates and the couple made their home in Ker-robert, where she continued teaching in the town school. The couple later moved to Weyburn, Moose Jaw and Regina where they raised their two children.

Martha is lovingly remembered by her husband Lester, daughter Lesley (David) Guerrero and grandchildren David and Marl Elena of Regina, daughter-in-law Judy and grandchildren Paul and Jennifer of Vancouver, B.C., and special niece Gladys Scheldt of Regina. Other survivors include her twin sister Mary Olson of Kelowna, B.C., and sister Eva Zimmer of Luseiand as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her parents Harel and Gertrude Mathias, sister Janet Sim, brothers Clark and William Mathias and son Byron. Besides devotion to her family, Martha spent much of her adult life as a volunteer In community activi ties. In addition to the volunteer teaching of art classes she worked in many ways at the Gallery.

Her work at Wesley United Church included serving as coordinator of the Wesley Wheelers for nearly 25 years. Special recognition of her volunteer work included certificates from Wascana Rehabiliation Centre and from the City of Regina. Ill health in the last six years caused her to give up the community volunteer activities. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Wesley United Church, 3913 Hillsdale St. on Thursday, September 20, 2001 at 2:00 p.m.

with Rev. John Haas and Rev. Mary Beer officiating. Remains will be buried In the family plot in Luseiand Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1979, she is survived by her children Patricia (Jake) Sllzer, Kelowna Elizabeth (Irwin) Fuhrmann, Kelowna; Thomas (Marlene) Opitz, Regina; Raymond (Marilyn) Opitz, Kelowna; Judith (Ron) Heck, Winfield; Mary (Jerry) Baumgartner, Kel owna, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandsons, and her brother Thomas of En-glefeld, Saskatchewan. Rose and Joseph farmed near Watson, Saskatchewan until 1962 when they moved to Regina. Rose moved to Kelowna, B.C.

We invite everyone in the community to ioin us in passing along our condolences and best wishes to those affected by these events. 8 DEATH NOTICES HARRIET BALFOUR ROSS (nee McNie) April 6, 1920 September 14, 2001 It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we must announce the passing of Harriet Balfour Ross (nee McNie).

She was born in Aik tow, SK on April 6, 1920 and passed away peacefully on September 14, 2001 at the age of 81. She is predeceased by her proud parents George Liddle McNie and Jessie Balfour Me Nie who immigrated from Scotland in 1904 and 1918 respectively. She is also predeceased by her cousin Mary Powell of Regina Beach and brothers-in-law William Gordon Ross and George Edment Ross of Toronto, ON. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchil dren, and sister-in-law Betty McFetridge. In a day when it was rare for a woman, Harriet studied to become a physician at Regina College after graduating from Scott Collegiate.

One year into the program, her compassion for people led her to follow her true calling as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital in May, 1943. Her lifelong commitment was to her patients that she cared for as a Specialized Nurse for Dr. D.C. McRae, as Head Nurse in the medical ward at the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital, and during her 16 years as an office nurse for Drs.

Alec and Joe Wasylenki in Regina. Her expertise and kind bedside manner will be appreciated for many years to come. Harriet treasured her family and devoted her life to them. She married Howard Alexander Ross on May 12, 1943, after they courted for 3 years. During their 58-year marriage they raised 2 children.

Jessie Elizabeth Ross (Betty Lindsay) was born on June 17, 1946 and Howard George Robert Ross was born on August 10, 1951. Her absence will be felt forever by her husband, children and grandchildren; Jimmy Lindsay, Swan) Lindsay and partner Tom Landry, Heidi Lindsay and partner Jim Grundy, and Sara Lindsay and partner Brad McNaughton. Harriet's battle with heart disease was long and hard and she fought it with tireless bravery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or the CNIB in her honour. Harriet's spirit will continue to live on in our cherished memories of her constant patience, kindness and selfess-ness.

DUBAY Mr. Dennis Lome Dubay beloved husband of Mrs. Laurie Dubay of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on September 16, 2001, at the age of 53 years. Dennis was born on July 17, 1948 in Brantford, ON. During Dennis' life he spent time in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon and eventually settling in Calgary.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laurie; two daughters, Trish (Blair) McMurray, Trade Dubay, all of Calgary; stepsons, Jeff (Katherine) Eyamle and Tony Eyamle, of Winnipeg. He Is also survived by his two sisters Anne Buchanan of Brantford, ON and Diane (Greg) Vasic of Bermuda; nephews, Stephen (Tia) Szak of Brantford, ON, Greg (Zoe) Szak of Oakville, ON, and Nicholas Vasic; great niece, Sarah Szak, and many other relatives, friends and golf buddies. He was predeceased by his wife Diane, his parents, Leone and Harold, and grandson Shane. Harold was predeceased by his parents William and Amelia (Denzin) Seed, his wife Eva, son Howard in infancy and sisters Myrtle Clark and Pearl (Clifford) Patterson. He is survived by his son Edwin (Betty) Seed of Regina, daughter Lenore (Arnot) Hawkins of Thunder Bay, ON and son Lyle (Judy) Seed of Regina Beach. He also leaves to remember and appreciate his life, nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Harold was born July 21, 1900 on the Seed family homestead in the Tregarva district. He farmed that land his entire life, and continued to take an active port in the farming operation until age 94, when ill health forced him to limit his involvement.

Although he gained a deep knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures through a lifetime of study, he much preferred to teach by example. His quiet confidence and unshakeable faith in God was a pillar of strength to him, and to all those who have had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Harold's life will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at 1:30 P.M. in the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, 2210 College Regina, SK. with Dr.

Arnot Hawkins, officiating. Interment will follow at Tregarva Cemetery.
