Throughout his life he pursued many careers. He worked as a watch repairman at Eatons, drove cab for Regina Cab Co. and owned and ran a chicken ranch in what is now north Regina. His love of plants and animals showed in the beautiful flowers in and around his cottage and the menagerie of friends in the house.
