NEW star Wes Santee and the Amateur Athletic Union come up today for the second round of their court battle over his amateur standing, but indications were that the final decision still is far The immediate outcome of today's New York State Supreme Court could be to determine whether Santee will be allowed to run in Saturday's Milwaukee Journal track meet in Milwaukee, Wis. Santee, fastest American miler history, was suspended from amateur track "for life" by the AAU on Feb. 19 on charges of accepting too much expense money. But last week obtained a up the suspension allowed him temporary injunction, which held to appear in last Saturday's Knights of Columbus meet at Madison Square Garden. Today's hearing is in regard to injunction, with Santee asking that it extended AAU asking that it ended.

Charles: P. Grimes, attorney for Santee, said usual procedure in such cases would be the judge to reserve decision and to extend the temporary injunction until final decision is rendered. Should Justice Irving L. Levey follow that procedure, the way might clear for Santee to race in Milwaukee. At Milwaukee, Meet Director OllKuechle said that he expected Santee would compete, if possible, the meet would be bound by whatever occurred in court.

Kuechle foresaw the same type of trouble in lining up opponents for Santee as experienced by the K. of C. meet last week. All the regular starters in the K. of C.

Each school was allofted 425 tickets for the game which will be western regional playoff game in the state high school basketball I tournament. Tickets were sold to students and adults here on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, with preference given ticket holders who presented their season tickets when buying tickets. Mr.

Lowry said today that there are "at least more requests for tickets on file at his office. He said he will not know until 1 p.m. Tuesday, the day of the game, if more tickets will be available here. Oliver High officials have promised to notify District 9 officials then if they have any tickets still unsold at that time. If any tickets are left at Oliver, that number of tickets will be sold here Tuesday afternoon.

Tickets cost 50 cents each for students and $1 each for adults. Season ticket holders who have signed up ahead of time will be given preference in the sale of any tickets here Wednesday. Mr. Lowry said most of the 150 persons who have signed up for tickets here Tuesday are non season ticket hold. ers.

Any tickets not sold here or at Oliver by Tuesday night will be sold at the DuBois gymnasium, site of the playoff game, for $1 each. MARYS The Sheffield High Woiverines racked up their 20th straight victory of the season here last night, pulling away in the last half to wallop Sykesville, 80 to 48, for the District 9 Class championship. Sheffield now will play the defending Class champion, Fredonia, High, next Monday night, either at Edinboro State Teachers Co lege or Brookville. The Morehead Eagles became the Ohio Valley Conference representative in the tourney Thursday night by nipping Western Kentucky, 84- 80 in the final game of a special playoff. in a first-round tourney game at Fort Wayne, March 12. Morehead, Western Kentucky, and Tennessee Tech had finished the season in a three-way tie for the Ohio Valley title. Western Kentucky downed Tech by the same 84-80 score Wednesday in the first game of the playoff, and held Morehead even at 66-66 midway in the second half. But then the Eagles, who set a new record with a 96 points per game average this year, went on to eightpoint a 74-66 lead with 2:30 left. Western rallied to trail by one point, but two free throws each by Fats Tolle and Dan Swartz won it for Morehead.

Morehead twice defeated Marshall, its first NCAA rival, during the regular season. NCAA-bound Manhattan wound up its season with a 16-7 record by defeating Fordham. 78-71, at New York despite 27 points by Jim Cunningham of the Rams.
