Pagine CITY OF REGINA NOTICES 8 DEATH NOTICES BERGEN, JOHN is with great sadness that the family of John Bergen, dear Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa, announce his passing on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, after a seven-month battle with cancer. Born September 24, 1927, near Gainsborough, SK, he is predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Maria (Hildebrand), wife Eileen (Parisien), brother Dave, and sister Helen (Currie). is survived by his four children: Bernice (Brian) Bender, Brian, Blair (Sue), and Belinda (Don) Bieber; grandchildren: Janine and Jeremy Bender, Elizabeth (Ian) Edwards-Collins and her mother Mylinda, Wayne Bergen, Taminy (Josef) Tesar, Charlie, C.

Michelle, and Mark Bieber; five great-grandchildren: Prestin Bergen and his mother Amber, Sebastian, Logan and Joshua EdwardsCollins, and Tianna Bieber and her father Tony Marcotte; brother Jake (Molly) and sister Mary (Jim) Irwin, as well as nieces and nephews. John was married to Eileen for forty-five years before her passing in 1994. He was on road construction in his early years as a cat skinner. He worked at Ipsco for nearly thirty years. After his retirement he inspected pipe for a private company.

John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting for wild game, fishing, golfing and gardening. He went on many gambling trips with Mom to Deadwood and Four Bears. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking many of their interests as his own. He will be sorely missed. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy 1 East, on Monday, June 7th, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.

Predeceased by her parents Doris and Alex Polowick, her mother-in-law Doris McCrank and special Aunt Lil, Denise is survived by her loving husband Bob (Robert) and children Peter and his wife Elizabeth (South Surrey), Michael and his fiancee Lesia Luciuk (Calgary), and Daniel (Vancouver); her brother Barry Polowick and his wife Linda LaRose and their son Christopher (Calgary); and her sister Patricia Polowick and her husband Allan Ireland and their children lain and David (Saskatoon); her father-in-law Leonard McCrank; brothers-in-law James McCrank and Sheila Thomson (Surrey) and his children Christopher McCrank and Lisa Bucholz; Murray McCrank and his wife Linda and their children Jennifer and Kerri (Assiniboia); and sister-in-law Eileen McCrank (Regina). Denise was born October 22, 1947 in Wadena, the oldest child of Alex and Doris (Kreklewetz) Polowick. She was raised and educated in Regina at McNab School and Martin Collegiate.

She attended the Physical Therapy School at the University of Saskatchewan where she met her husband. They were married in 1969, resided and raised their family in Regina. She worked as a Physical Therapist at the Wascana and Pasqua Hospitals. She enjoyed golfing, time at the lake, travelling, curling, weaving, needlework and watching her sons' sporting events. To Denise, family was everything and this included her large extended family, many dear friends and their families.

Denise has requested that we express her deep gratitude to Dr. Sandra Rayson and nurse Cindy and all of the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and to the Diagnostic and Ambulatory Care staff of the Pasqua Hospital. In lieu of flowers, Denise would appreciate donations the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 Mcintyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or to Canadian Blood Services, 2571 Broad Street, Regina S4P 4H6. David was born in Audley, Staffordshire, England on April 2, 1921. He grew up in Montgomeryshire, North Wales and joined the R.A.F.

in 1941 serving until 1946 when he was discharged with the rank of Flying Officer. He came to Canada in 1947 and joined Silverwood Dairies Limited as assistant accountant, Regina Branch. In 1949 he joined Weston Bakeries Limited as Office Manager, Moose Jaw Branch, retiring in 1986 after 37 years of service, the last 18 years spent as General Manager of the Saskatchewan Division. He is a past president of the Regina Central Lion's Club, past president of the Plains Toastmaster Club and a past Area Governor of Toastmaster International. A member of the R.U.S.I., The Royal Canadian Legion, The Air Force Assoc.

Gwen was a very caring and loving person. Her family and friends were a very important part of her life, and she cherished her many visits and gatherings with each and every one of them. She was a teacher for many years in the country schools around Raymore. She was a member of the Anglican Church and a strong believer of her faith. She looked forward to playing the organ for church every Sunday, and enioyed music, playing cards, doing crosswords and many other games.

She will be sadly missed by all her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Anglican Church in Raymore, Silver Heights Care Home in Raymore, or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Tompkins Funeral Services in Wadena. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday June 7, 2:00 p.m., at the Raymore Anglican Church. A lunch will follow.

REGINA FUNERAL HOME PHILLIPS- Russell Patrick passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was 75 years old. He is predeceased by his parents John and Minerva Phillips, his sisters Myrtle and Merle and brothers Keith, Larry and Ron. He is survived by wife Dorothy, daughters Marianne and Wendy and son Curtis. Russ was born on March 16, 1929 in Qu'Appelle, SK.

He joined the Canadian Armed Forces early in his life and retired after 33 years of dedicated service which included several peacekeeping tours. He enjoyed long distance walking for a time and set some records. He spent many years as a volunteer with the Salvation Army. He was a member of the Sons of Scotland, Royal Canadian Legion. His favourite team was the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he was watching the Flames and Lightning play off anyway.

He attended Argyle Road Baptist Church. Russ will be missed by his family and friends and especially by the residents and staff of Pioneer Village, where he was residing and working as a volunteer. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Joseph Perrins on June 2, 2004 at the Salvation Army Hospice, his family by his side. Peter immigrated to Canada with his parents, Bert and Ellen, and his brother Dan in 1954 from Yorkshire, England. The family settled in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where Peter finished his education.

He married his wife Patricia in 1961 and they have one son, David. Peter and his family moved to Calgary in 1970 where he has resided ever since. Peter is survived by his wife Patricia, son David, daughter-in-law Louise and his precious granddaughters Megan and Alexandra. In Regina, he is survived by his mother Ellen, his brother Dan and wife Pauline and two nephews Michael and Gregory. He was predeceased by his father Bert Perrins in 1995.

Peter is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in England, Canada and the US. At Peter's request, there will be a private family service held at Heritage Funeral Home. We wish to thank Dr. Stewart and his staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Dr. Falk and his staff at the Salvation Army Hospice, 1302 8 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.
