Predeceased by his parents, Charles, and Mary; and brothers: Steve, George and William; Walter Is survived by his loving wife, Lucy; one daughter, Rosemary (Eric) Dietrich of Regina, two sons; Gerry (Shirley) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Robert (Linda) of Regina, two sisters: Celia Hag-feldt of Scobey, Mont, and Madge Deacon, of Three Hills, seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Walter was born on February 7, 1916 at Coronach, Sask.

He served with the Regina Rifles In Europe, as an exchange officer with the Royal Scots Fusiliers. While serving in France he lost a leg. On return to Canada he had a long career with the D.V.A. and the P.F.A.A. He was a meritorious service member of the War Amputations of Canada and a lifetime member of the Canadian Legion.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 1993 at 1:00 p.m. in the HELMSING FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2210 College Ave Regina, with the Rev. Barry Bruce, officiating. She also leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Jodi (James) Brown of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Tammy Schmidt of Winnipeg, and one son Kevin Schmidt, also of Winnipeg; her parents David ond Tillie May of Medicine Hat, a brother Ken May and his wife Dorothy of Burstall, Saskatchewan, eleven brothers-in-law, eleven sisters-ln-law and 60 nieces and nephews. Sheila Gwen May was born in Medicine Hat on June 20, 1946 and was raised and educated in Burstall, Saskatchewan. She married Don Schmidt on June 5, 1965 in Medicine Hat and they lived in Burstall until they accepted a company transfer to Winnipeg on August 19, 1983. In October 1989 Don and Shelld moved to Regina and have resided there ever since. Sheila taught typing at Burst-all School In 1965 and 1966 ond was a substitute teacher from 1967 fo 1977.

She worked as the assistant to the R.M. Secretary Treasurer at Burstall from April 1, 1977 to January 31, 1980 and the Assistant Town Administrator January 1, 1979 to January 31, 1980, then as the Town Administrator February 1, 1980 to August 31, 1983. She also worked for Saskatchewan Government Insurance April 1, 1977 to January 31, 1980. She received her class 'C' certificate In local Government Administration from the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus, May 23, 1979 and her class 'A' certification June 8, 1982. She practiced as both a Commissioner of Oaths and a Notary Public during her employ as the Town Administrator.

Sheila served os the Assistant Administrator of the R.M. of Birds Hill, a suburb of Winnipeg from 1984 to 1988. Sheila was an exceptional athlete during her elementary and high school years, setting numerous track and field records in southwest Saskatchewan. She was also an avid curler and was fortunate enough to win Provincial Mixed Titles in 1979 and 1980. Her many hobbles included sewing, oil painting, knitting, needle point and crocheting.

She was a tireless volunteer in the Burstall community, getting involved in fund raising drives for many of the communities fine sports facilities, auditing books for all the towns organizations and arranging for community homecomings. She was a key player in producing the Burstall History book. Nineteen years ogo, she along with Mary Kopp were instrumental In publishing the first edition of the Burstall Main-streeter, a local monthly newspaper. Since 1988 she has been actively involved in researching and writing a Schmidt family history book. Sheila was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a very good friend ond will be sadly missed by her family who will always cherish her memory.

The Funeral Service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL DOWNTOWN on Friday, May 21, 1993 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Irwin Kulat officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Due to Les' lob they lived in various communities, In 1959 they moved to Moose Jaw ond retired to Cornduff in 1982. Before her Illness she was a tireless volunteer working with the church and seniors. Eva had a deep Interest in family history.

Predeceased by her parents: Robert and Ida Ciow; brothers: Horry and Sandy; sister, Gerry; In-laws John Forrester, Charlie Spencer and Lorna and Ernie Boyd. Jean Beatrice Thompson passed away at Ina Grafton Gage Home, Sunday, May 16, 1993 at the age of 103. Born in 1890 in the township of Hunt-ley, Ontario. Jean was a faithful member of St. Andrew's United Church and spent many years teaching a Sunday School Kindergarten class, as well as being a hard working member of the S.W. Circle of the St.

Andrew's U.C.W., helping to cater their many banquets. She was also very involved with the Eastern Star of which she was Past Worthy Matron and a life member. Jean loved to walk and this contributed to her good health and ability to live alone In her own home until her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband. Jack In 1968.

She was the last surviving member of a family ot five sisters: Edith, Mary, Edna and Mildred. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Helen (Bud) Hardy Saskatoon; and grandchildren: Leslie, Greg, and Ross; son, Dr. Donald (Mary) -Calgary; and grandchildren: John, Donna, Patricia, and Pamela. She also leaves five great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Funeral Services will be held at W.J.
