world of professional musi cians and singers they are giants greatly admired by their peers Paich music director for this concert is a long time Valley resident His Valley life style has not slowed his hectic schedule of arranging composing and conducting music in Hollywood and around the world Two months ago Paich returned from a highly successful concert tour of Japan with Mel Tbrme One month ago he conducted a 90 piece orchestra for the sound track on new Gene Hackman film On Sept 1 2 Paich will be conduc ting Sarah Vaughn and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl After the that students who read more do homework and watch less televi sion score Honig added Those who reported reading for class assignments at least one hour a day averaged at least 16 points above the state average In the CAP direct writing assessment seniors were asked to write essays in response to specific prompts that focused on several types of writing covering a range of skills Examples included writing an autobiographical incident writing for evaluation and interpretation and writing reflectively making abstract concrete were married The Westons have been making beautiful music together ever since In 1971 the Trustees of the Na tional Academy of Recording Arfe and Sciences gave its highest award to Weston This award has been given to Leopold Stokowski Thomas Edison and rank Sinatra among others It read in part paui Weston whose dedication wisdom and strength led Academy through its earliest years and whose tireless dedica tion ever since has contributed to the Recording
