Captain Danny Phalan is not only a hard hitter, but is one of the best first baseman ever seen in, Kane. Warren, the visitors' shortstop, made a beautiful running catch in the second inning when he robbed Robinson of a hit over short. "Bricky" Donovan is playing a great game at short and is one of the most popular players on the team. Yester dav's game was the first game that he failed to get a hit although he drove the ball hard on two occasions. McCracken and Clark, two former Kane players who were with the Brookville team, were given a good hand when they appeared' at bat the first time.

Against the pitching of Adams, however, they were 'not" very strong with the stick, although Mc i'racken beat out an infield hit. Brookville was credited with a hit the second inning when Danny lost a high fly in the sun. Dan ny made a couple nice catches later in the game. Kane's little catcher, Red Packer, orked overtime on the coaching lines. being ably assisted by Strick.

Adams was given a great hand in be fourth inning when he pitched limseif out of the hole with a man on third and but one out. Adams worked is fast ball to good effect throughout the game. The next game scheduled for Kane witli Johnsonburg, which will be ayed tomorrow evening. is One baseball fun was heard to remark last evening after the game: "It looks great to see good baseball again and when I looked up into the grandstand and saw Fluke, lleatty, Kime and many others, it made mc think of the days of the Interstate league." The Brookville team is scheduled to play in Kane again on Thursday, August 7, and Pete McCracken claims he is going to bring a team that will surely bring home the bacon.
