Fenerty Philadelphia, Saturday night at the fourth annual banquet of the Association of Manufacturers' Representatives of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The affair was held in Hotel Jermyn with 400 persons attending.

James A. Brady, president of the association, presided. The toastmaster was Gerald Culkin. A 25 pound birth, day cake, donated by the Spaulding Bakery, later was presented to an orphanage. "Taxes," Congressman Fenerty said, "are more today than ever before in our history.

It is not the rich who are bearing the burden of these taxes. It is every man who buys a cigarette; every woman who uses cosmetics; every child who purchases chewlrg gum; every housekeeper who seeks to buy sugar, flour, meats or bread, or other necessities of life." Sees Disregard for Economy The high taxation was blamed by Congressman Fenerty on the "wanton disregard for economy with your money now persisting in Washington." He criticized the action of the New Deal In "taking the money of working people of Pennsylvania and the East and paying it to individuals in the West and South as a bonus for not working.
