Columbia-Bowell Chapel 604-521-4881 -116695 HARRIS Marjorie Lenora (Wells) Born in Webb, Saskatchewan February 8th, 1917, deceased January 17th, 2008 in Surrey, B.C. Marjorie was predeceased by her husbands Menno Buller and Alan Harris. Marjorie leaves behind many nephews and nieces, her dear friend Versa Dobson, as well as her step family. Marjorie was the last member of her generation consisting of 7 sisters and 1 brother. Marjorie dedicated her life to serving her country, she enlisted in the RCAF during World War and served in a Communications capacity, she then transferred to civil service where she served until her retirement.

Marjorie's family, extended family and many 'West Coast" friends will miss her sense of humour and warm personality which she retained through her last pain filled years. We wish you peace and God speed. A farewell and celebration of Marjorie's life will be held 2:00 PM on May 3rd, 2008 at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey. Reception to follow. Fraser Heights Funeral Home 604-589-2559 -115377 HARVEY Louisa Victoria (nee Ostman) April 22, 1913 April 19, 2008 Louise's life journey came to an end after a sudden illness, three days before her 95th birthday. She is deeply missed by her loving family two sons, Keith (Judi) and Chris (Suzan) and two grandchildren, Sadie and Grant. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was born in Vancouver to Ernst Fredrik Ostman and Minnie (nee Wood). She married Thomas Wheatly Harvey on October 5, 1935 in Vancouver and moved to Whonnock where they set up their home and started a family.

In 1948, the family moved to Hope and became an active participant in the business and community. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, sisters, Thelma Happy and Gina Kendrick, and brother Ernest Ostman. She was a very active woman, who worked right up to the end of March, 2008. She was also an active participant in her church. Her inspiration, work ethic, kindness and compassion earned her much respect.

She always lived with a positive attitude and cared deeply for all her friends and family. She lived her life with enthusiasm. She especially enjoyed her little office at Canyon Agencies, where many friends and acquaintances dropped by to chat. And also where many came to get married. It kept her in touch with the town she loved and she often commented that Hope was such a nice place to live.

She leaves a great void in our lives. A memorial service will be held on April 23 at 1:00 PM at the Anglican Church in Hope (corner of Fraser Ave and Park St). We wish to thank Dr. Nyirenda and the staff at Fraser Canyon Hospital for their dedication and kindness. Special thanks also to her long time friends in the Eastern Star and Anglican Church Womens Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Anglican Church Eastern Star would be appreciated. -116586 HEWGILL Elwood Thomas Elwood Hewgill passed away peacefully on April 22, 2008 in Maple Ridge B.C. at the age of 92. Survived by his wife Cora, and their four children Denton, Vivian Kapusta, Ralph and Wayne and six grandchildren: Greg, Randy, David, Joy, Russ and Shannon. Elwood is the son of Victor and Ellen Hewgill (nee Lougheed), Elwood was born on August 20th, 1915 in Thornberry Ontario.

Elwood was predeceased by his brother Emmanuel and two sisters Kathleen and Mary. Elwood served with the Royal Canadian Air Force between 1941 and 1946. The skills he developed with diesel generator sets continued to be his life career. He worked at Hoffars Diesel, Dietrich Collins and Cullen Detroit Diesel. He developed Hewgill Industries with motto "No job too big or two His next endeavour was to learn to paint watercolours.

He became president of the West Vancouver Sketch Club and the Garibaldi Art club, as well as being active in the Arts Councils. Always volunteering, he powered the United Church Camp Fircom in the 1960 and worked to bring a new Art Gallery to Maple Ridge. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Alzhiemers Society. Alfred Churchill Lockyer McKay Born 8 September, 1916 in Glasgow Scotland, passed away suddenly on 19 April, 2008 in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 91. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years Freda (Mix), his brother John, and his grandson, Kenneth. Lovingly survived by his children, Elizabeth, James (Jessie) and Marilyn (James), his eight grandchildren, his twenty-five great-grandchildren and his sister, Janet (Harry) and his brother-in-law, Emmanuel (Helena). He graduated from the School of Hard Knocks with flying colours. Alfred emigrated to Canada at age 14, working on farms in Tilsenberg, Ontario and Richmond, BC to pay for his passage.

He retired from the Vancouver School Board having risen to the position of senior gardener. He enjoyed a comfortable retirement with his family residing in North Vancouver and for a short period in Abbotsford, BC. Dad's passion was serving his Lord, using his wonderful tenor voice in glorious songs. We love you, we miss you and we will see you again. Judy was born in Chatham, Ontario on October 16th, 1940 to Harold and Phyllis Foex and attended Chatham College, Junior College in Switzerland followed by Victoria Collegiate at the University of Toronto where she met her husband. Following her marriage, Judy and her family moved to Vancouver and the North Shore where she raised her children and settled for the past 40 years. Apart from a few years when she relocated to Davis, California to complete her PhD in the field of Entomological Science, Judy had always called North Vancouver her home.

She is loved and sadly missed by her daughter Andrea (Xavier), son Brian (Deborah), her 4 grandchildren (Braeden, Abby, Cameron and Maeryn), sisters Caroline (Jerry) and Elizabeth, Roger and many, many dear friends and acquaintances. Mom had a generous and exuberant personality that drew friendships wherever she went. She was smart, loved a joke, was quick with a smile and genuinely enjoyed doing things for others. Judy adored spending time with her children and grandchildren and cherished the fact that she played such an important part in their lives. She loved to cook and bake many loved ones were the lucky recipients of her pies and custom-created birthday cakes.

Judy loved to play games with whoever would join her, from her regular bridge club get-together, to teaching new games to her grandchildren. Judy also enjoyed singing, reading, listening to music, quilting, knitting, and spending time with friends. She was a Master Gardener and volunteer with the Van Dusen Botanical Garden Association and an enthusiastic member of the Cecilia Ensemble choir. A proud mother, devoted Nana, and dear friend to many, Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at 2 p.m.

PROCOPATION Helen November 7, 1925 April 19, 2008 Born August 20, 1939 in Wildwood, Alberta of Russian immigrants Egnat and Helena. Vera passed away on April 17, 2008 at Burnaby General Hospital. Vera spent her early years growing up on the family farm in Vernon and moved to Vancouver when she was eighteen. She was a long time member of both the Russian and Ukrainian halls. As a gifted musician, she played both the mandolin and domra for the Vancouver and Russian folk orchestras. Vera lived her life simply and happily, cooking for family and friends. She will be widely remembered for her incredible generosity, original sense of humour and love of a good bargain.

Vera will be sadly missed by her family and the many, many friends she'd made over the years. He joined the Canadian Navy on March 17, 1943 during World and was commissioned as a petty officer on frigate HMCS Charlottetown in the Atlantic Theatre where he acted as Electrical Artificer for 19 months. received the 1939-45 Star and Medal, Canadian Vounteer Service Medal, Atlantic Star and Clasp France and Germany Star. was a prominent British Columbia businessman president and owner of Mancorp Industrial Ltd. since 1983. He was also an avid curler and and had been member of the Caledonian Curling Regina and the Coquitlam Curling Club.

He also been a member of the Vancouver Golf Club 1977. family celebration of his life was held at Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Coquitlam, BC April 5, 2008. Heart Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice. -116207 WATSON Joyce (Routledge) Was born In Wallasey, England in 1924 and passed away peacefully on February 21, 2008 at Arbutus Care Centre in Vancouver. Joy will be sadly missed by her husband John, her son Neil and daughter-in-law Judy and her grandchildren Adam and Alessia. She also will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Alan and George and their families and by the many other close friends and relatives she had in England, Vernon and Vancouver. Joy was generous, kind, honest, hard working and selfless.

She had an enthusiasm and sense of humour that effected everyone she came in contact with. Aside from being loving wife and mother, she engaged in volunteer activities in England and Canada including being a magistrate and chairman of the council in Brewood, England to working with United Way, Social Services and being President of the John Howard Society in Vernon.
