He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and family, David Lees, Allen (Marlene) Lees, Jean (Doug) Stevenson, Jo-Anne (Pat) Lees Walsh, as well as thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Hazel Lees, Hilda Nygaard and Gertrude Graham. Predeceased by his parents, Ellis and Emma; brothers, Ellis, John and Frank; step-daughter Peggy Lees. Arthur was born November 7, 1915 at North Portal on the farm he would grow to love. He spent his childhood years at Taylorton, but for most of his life he lived on the family farm at North Portal. Twenty-three years of work as a customs officer, and a stint in the army never dampened his enthusiasm for farm life.

Recently Arthur was presented with a life membership in the Royal Canadian Legion. Church attendance and involvement were an important part of Arthur's life.
