Eldon is survived by his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Arrangements in care of the TubFuneral Home, Indian Head (1-800-667- CONNELLY-MAX LAWRENCE of Midale, SK, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on June 8, 1998 at the age of 96 years. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 1998 from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Midale, SK, with Pastor Greg Anderson and Rev. Jack Busby officiating. Interment will follow in Westphalia Cemetery, Midale, SK.

Max was born in Annandale, Minnesota on January 7, 1902. He was a pioneer, moving with his family to Midale, North West Territories, in April 1905. When he grew to adulthood, he was a part of many pioneering institutions: secretary-treasurer of the Anderson School Board, director of the Lac Qui Parle Telephone Company, and a founding member of the Wheat Pool, where he served as a committee member for 46 years. He later served as a director of the Midale Co-op, and as an elder in the Midale United Church. Max was a very good student, especially in math.

He attended Anderson school from its opening in 1911 until 1920. He was a farmer, a mechanic, and an inventor, making many innovative changes to his farm machinery. Max was a sportsman. As a young man, he loved to play ball and hunt. In later years, he became an avid curler and golfer, filling shelves with his trophies and serving as president of the Midale Curling Club and of the Mainprize Golf Club.

Family was important to Max. In his later years, he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy; his children, George (Mona) Connelly; Maxine (Eugene) Cherwonka; Shirley (Barry) Strohan; his daughter-in-law, Wanda Connelly; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; all of his brothers and sisters; his son, Earl; and his son-in-law, Victor Magnan. COUCKUYT-It is with great sadness that Edward's family announce his passing on Friday, June 5, 1998. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart R.C. Rev. Vwadek Marczynsky celebrant. Edward was on July 30, 1912 in the Wolseley district. He attended Abbottsford School and later worked on various farms in the district. He married Mary Vanaelst in 1942 and they settled in the Wolseley area where they farmed until 1974.

They lived in Regina and then moved to Montmartre where Edward continued his life long love of farming by being involved in his son Carl's operation. At 85 he was still an active participant. Edward was predeceased by his infant son Edward Joseph; his parents Charles and Leonie; his brothers August and Bruno; sister Zulma De Yeagher; brother in law Camiel Quintyn, Vic De Yeagher and Maximillion Laverdiere. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife Mary of Montmartre, his son Carl (Marrianne) of Montmartre, and their children Shannon of Cultus Lake, B.C. and his son Joshua Giroux of Moose Jaw: Lisa (Mark) MacLeod of Halifax, Nova Scotia and their children Zachary and Abigail; Laura (Jeremy) Moore of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and their children Brittany and Jeremy; Daughter Coleta (Mert) Hess of Regina, and their son Troy of Regina; Daughter Lynn (Gerard) Dreher and their daughter Amanda of Regina, Sisters, Hilda Quintyn of Wolseley and Jane Laverdiere, Sister in law, Jean Couckuyt of Boissevain, Manitoba and numerous nieces and nephews.

McPeek was born in Ottertail County, Minnesota in 1903 and migrated to Kelliher, Saskatchewan with her parents in 1907. Ruby married Arthur McPeek in 1920 and resided in Regina, Saskatchewan most of her life. Mrs. McPeek was the mother of six daughters and two sons. Until the last four years she was very active throughout her whole life doing many craft projects.

She was always willing to help others when it was required of her. Mrs. McPeek had many friends over the years, most of whom have predeceased her, and the remaining friends will miss her deeply. Mrs. McPeek was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1968; and her eldest daughter, Eleanor in 1940.

She is survived by five daughters: Lorna Manz, Doreen Slinn, Joyce Ashbee, all of Regina, Helen Shoults of Calgary and Irene McPeek of Delta, B.C. She is also survived by two sons: Jim McPeek and Archie McPeek, both of Regina. Ruby survived twenty Grandchildren, thirty-five Great Grandchildren and two Great live Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters: Frances Gorman, Gladys Smith and Doris Chester, as well as one brother Roy Anderson. She was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.

At Ruby's request there will be a graveside service and interment at Riverside Memorial Park on Friday, June 12, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ron Sutton of St. Andrews United Church, officiating. Tea will be served at Lee Funeral Home.
