Boys are spending their time diving in Elm creek for parts of a new Ford. They have found two wheels, two rims, and a fan. They are going back in hopes of finding more. Miss Evelyn Chilcotte, 431 South Fourth, is visiting her aunt and uncle. Sheriff and Mrs.

Grandma Miller who lives with her daughter, Mrs. Dice, 411 North Third Is not any better. She is in St. Johns hospital and Js 78 years old. Her daughter from St.

Joseph, Mo, is here. Joette Williams of Clever, Mo. Is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.

B. Moyer, 606 North Third. She will visit with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. H.

S. Parker of Fort Scott before she returns home in the latter part of July. Marcella Symmes, 216 North Fourth, has been ill since Sunday. She is able to be up now. Mr.

and Mrs. O. E. Burton and daughter, Lenora of Colorado Springs, arrived Friday morning to visit friends and relatives. They will also visit In Chanute.

Mr. and Mrs. Burton lived in Iola when they were first married. Mr. and Mrs.

Harry Culbertson, 229 North Fourth were Thursday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Stinson near Carl vie. Mrs. B.

E. Hildebrant, 431 South Fourth, has been suffering from a sore foot. She is much better. Mr. Ed Blankenhagen.

The following program was rendered: Miss Caroline Thormann played a violin solo and Miss Lucille Davis was her piano accompanist. Both Miss Thormann and Miss Davis are of LaHarpe. Imogene Frazier gave a reading, Why; Miss Dorothy Baker sang a solo, Eyes that are Weary, by Brackett, accompanied by Miss Virginia Guy.

M. Dadisman. who is leaving next week with her family for Wichita to make their home. Mrs. Dadisman was presented with a pretty lamp as a token of remembrance.

Games were played and refreshments were served to fifteen gUests. Bible Class Meets The South Side Bible class met yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. A. B. Young, 221 South Colborn street.

Maxine and Madelyeene Mitchell, who have faithfully carried the Register to their customers for the past six years, are obliged to give up their routes as it is just too far to come from their home, seven miles south of Iola, every day to deliver their papers. Miss Betty Epley is taking the route on South Jefferson and Sycamore carried by Maxine while Miss Joan Abts is taking South street, the route formerly carried by Madelyeene.

Naaarene Revival Last nights meeting opened with a song service in charge of Profes sor Wesser, Miss Lucille Wagner playing the piano. The Rev. Mr. Anderson brought a message from Matt. 24: 34-44, text found in Romans, 9:27.

Rev. C. E. Bess and family left this morning for their home in McPherson, Kansas. They will visit a short time in Le Roy on the way.

Miss Georgia Proctor who has been visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hardesty. and sister and family. Mrs.

N. E. Hornor returned with them. Mr. and Mrs.

L. A. Tweedy and daughters. Mary and Dorothy Alice, and son. Harold and wife, will make a pleasure trip to Wicnita, Kansas, Sunday.

First Methodist Episcopal Church. The Sunday school meets at 9:45 oclock with a cordial invitation to everyone in its constituency to attend and especially the traveler who may be Sundaying in Iola. The pastor will preach the morning and evening sermons at 11 oclock and 8 oclock. This is the last Sunday for a complete Sunday program, with the choir present and an evening church service. The Epworth League will meet at 7 oclock.

The official board will meet next Tuesday night. There are advantages in having a poor memory; even the oldest jokes sound new. B. Specials Meet The U. B. Special class of the United Brethren church, held their regular social and business meeting Friday evening in the enuren parlors. At the business meeting, plans were made for the raising of funds for a pledge of twenty five dollars.

T. U. Friday afternoon, June 27. The meeting was opened by singing, America the Beautiful. Miss Oneth had the devotionals, reading for a scripture lesson the 91st Psalm, commenting on same.

Mrs. Paul Bustard led in prayer. This was followed by a brief business session. Mrs. Varner had on display one of the Good Will Treasure Chests, which is to be filled and sent to the Philippine children.
