Fred Troxell took a load of sheep to Kansas City for Fred Krokstrom Wednesday night. Quite a few from this neighborhood attended the funeral of Mr. Bennett in Elsmore 'Tuesday. The bereaved family have the sympathy of this community. Mr.

and Mrs. Fred Troxell and family were Sunday dinner guests at Gus Thompsons. W. D. Pratt and Alvin Ford left for the harvest fields Monday.

Nellie T. Pitts and Adaline. Those visiting were: Mrs. Matthews. Mrs.

Mabel Ludlum and children. What might have been a very serious accident occurred out west last Sunday. A car driven by Lester Daniels. Kansas City. Mo.

with his mother. Mrs. Daniels, and sister. Mrs. Martin, Bronson, as passengers was almost across the last bridge over Big Creek when an ice truck from Iola crashed into them head on.

The Daniels car was badly damaged. Mrs. Daniels had several ribs broken and was badly bruised up. Mrs. Martin was badly cut by the windshield.

They were taken to the home cf Porter Daniels, a brother. The truck was damaged also. Mrs. Cramer was called to Iola Sunday on a nursing case. Just 100 at Sunday school last Sunday.

Claude Roe, Iola, is doing some painting and papering for Mr. Tip-pie. Friends of Meryl Cox and Richard Whitaker were surprised to hear of their marriage in Kansas City last week. Florence Longenecker, who Is attending the summer session of K. S.

T. Pittsburg, spent the week end at home. She is taking special teaching work. Mr. and Mrs.

Ethan Holmes and family and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Holmes spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs.

John Holmes. Clarence Goyette returned home Monday night. Mrs. C. E.

Horton, Hume, and Mrs. Ralph Holland and little daughter. Helen Sue. Kansas City, spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs.

J. M. Hill. With Mr. and Mrs.

Hill they went to Moran Thursday evening and spent the evening with Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ralston.

H. Watson was in Fort Scott frem Tuesday until Thursday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Winifred Watson. Mr.

and Mrs. Dave Goyette, Collinsville. visited from Saturday until Monday morning with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goyette.

Boyd Setterstrom. of Lawrence, spent a week with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Ernest Setterstrom. Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest Hill spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hill, at Stark. Wm. Bennett passed away at the Chanute hospital Saturday morning where he had been for sometime.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Smith at the M. E. church Monday afternoon at 2 oclock.

The new home Mrs. Iindstrom Is having built is progressing nicely. She will soon have one of the nicest homes in Elsinore. Mr. and Mrs.

C. M. Hill. Stark, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.

J. M. Hill Wednesday, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hill and John William spent Wednesday evening with Mr.

and Mrs. J. M. Hill. Mr.

and Mrs. Martin Munson. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Munson and Wilma Jean and Mr.

and Mrs. Del-mar Danielson were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Munson a week ago last Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. Ralph Sisson and family spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson near Odense. Mrs.

Johnny Powers and Mrs. Elton Abram returned to Kansas City Saturday after a weeks visit with their mother, Mrs. Higginbotham. Mr. and Mrs.

Winifred Watson and baby. Fort Scott, spent Sunday with, Mr. and Mrs. W. H.

Watson. Henry Daniels, Iola, came down Friday evening and Mrs. A. V. Larson returned home with him where he visited until Saturday evening.

Mrs. Matthews and Blanche spent Sunday night and Monday at the Wilbert Setterstrom home. Mrs. Wray was called home by the illness and death of her father, Mr. Bennett.

She has been at Tulsa camg for her daughter, Mrs. Merl Ludlum and baby. Mrs. E. C.

Theatre Mens The resolution asking the repeal of the Kansas Sunday labor law, under 'which Sunday picture shows are banned in the state, adopted this week during the convention at Topeka by the Theatre Owners Association of Kansas and 'Western Missouri, of which E. Sunday with relatives in Geneva. A birthday party was held Sun-day at the Berkihiser home to celebrate the following persons birthdays which occurred in June: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hollingshead and daughters, Helen and LeOrrel, June and Charlene Berkihiser. A bounteous dinner was served, with ice cream and cake in the afternoon.
