His prevailing passion was horseracing. Lloyd loved the excitement of the racetrack and was the owner, along with Norm Browne of some beautiful, and occasionally very successful thoroughbreds. He was also an avid poker player, a skill he had honed since his army days. A great story teller and kidder Lloyd would regale one and all with stories of his, and others, exploits in business, gambling and, only occasionally, wartime. In later years, Lloyd was overjoyed watching his five grandchildren grow.

They adored him. Lloyd left this world peacefully in the early hours of January 1, 2004 of the New Year. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence; his sons Ken (Pat) and Clair (Carol); grandchildren Angus, Darba, Darcy, Shea and McKenzie, brothers Clair and Len; sisters Marion and Marg and many dear nephews and nieces. They will all miss him deeply. Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby on Thursday, January 8, 2004 commencing at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Burnaby General Hospital would be appreciated. -116086 OCEAN VIEW 435-6688 Memorial travelling, bridge and doing his glasswork.
