"THE LINN." Tlii boat brought the delegation from St. Louis: to tho Boonvillo Convention, passed up to Glasgow, took the delegation from there down, and remained until Friday evening. We had tho pleasure of a trip to Glasgow, on the "Linn," with Brgo delegation from that place malo and female as also the "Chariton County Del- egation," and several from Randolph. Af ter supper, we had a number of songs, and speeches from Gen. Wilson, of Randolph, and Messrs.

Shackelford and Aldridgc, of Olasgow. After the speeches, Mr. Jewett, who is always consulting the pleasure of paescngcrs, gave us a fine party, and such of tho company as felt disposcd( mused themselves several hours "on the light fantastic toe." The "Linn" is a favorilo boat with the travelling community, and particularly with the ladies, as any boat is bound to be, with such officers as Messrs. Kehnett and Jewett. MARRIED, On Wednesday evening, the tilth by the Rev.

Win. Duncan, SAMUEL J. DUNCAN, to Miss ELIZABETH, daughter of Gen. JoUn V. Price, til of this county.

When hands are joined, no more to part, And heart is met by throbbing heart, Bright be the Star that shines to guide, Their bark'of life on erery tide; Soft be the whisp'ring breeze that flings Around each sail its murmuring, And on through life's unclouded day Beam love's gay Lopes to light the way. "Sweet is the scene when Christians die, When boly souls retire to rest: How mildly beams the closing eye I How gently heaves the expiring breast!
