The victory sends the fifth-seeded Maroons into Tuesday's semifinals against No. 1 Bridgewater, which advanced with a 5-2 victory over Mountain Lakes.

Pingry was seeded fourth. Sowers and Turco set individual records when they combined for the decisive fourth goal five minutes into the third period. The goal was Sowers' 32nd, tying the Ridgewood season record. The assist gave Turco a Maroons career record 67 points. Tom Miller had a goal and an assist, Ryan Guiliani scored a goal, and goalkeeper Chris Williams made six saves for Ridgewood, which had a state record 44-match winning streak halted earlier this season.

In other matches, Dan Wolff scored three goals and assisted on five to lead third-seeded Montclair to a 17-5 win over No. 6 Westfield. The Mounties (14-2) broke away in the third period, outscoring Westfield 7-1 after leading 6-4 at halftime. Davi was one of eight local athletes to capture gold at the Parochial State track championships at Hub Stine Field. Davi won the highs in 15.09 and ran 63.2 in the intermediates, breaking a record set by the late Carolyn Sonzogni in 1983.

Davi's double wins and a third by Martina Brosnahan helped lHA to a sixth-place finish. Jean Readie won the 400 in 58.24 and took second in the 200 as Queen of Peace finished seventh. DePaul won two events and finished sixth in Parochial B. Da-vanna Medina won the 3200 in a personal best of 11:40.17 and took second in the 1600 to lead the Spartans.
