-207441 HANBY Ann Maureen passed away on June 3rd, 2001 in New Westminster following a courageous 2 year struggle with cancer. Maureen was born in Blackpool, England on September 1st, 1941 and emigrated to Canada in January 1965. Pre-deceased by her father, Harold, "Little Moe" is remembered with love by family in the United Kingdom: her mother, Norma; brother, Leonard(Janet); sisters, Janet (Des) Orange, Gillian Kay, Suzanne (Paul) Jarvis and brother, Bernard (Sue) in West Vancouver; their families and her treasured friends. "This gentle soul has found rest" -363969 HAID Aileen (nee Flannigan), born in Edinburgh Scotland on June 27, 1902, passed away in on June 5, 2001 at her home in Abbotsford, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband, Charlie in 1957, and older son, Bill in 1992, she is survived by three children Kathleen Toth (Mark) of Abbotsford, B.C., Ed (Shirley) of Anglin Lake, Sask. and Diane Bowman of Victoria, B.C., fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. After finishing high school in England, Aileen emigrated to Canada to join the rest of her family in Saskatoon, Sask.

She entered St. Pauls School of Nursing where she was known as Irish. After graduation in 1925, she and Charlie were married raised their family in Saskatoon, Humboldt, and Rosetown Sask. Throughout her life she was the consummate nurse, always there when anyone needed her help. After the death of her husband, Aileen returned to nursing at St.

Pauls Hospital, assuming the position of supervisor of the formula room until her retirement in 1970. She was a member of the choir of St. Pauls Cathedral for more than 20 years. In 1971 Aileen moved to Victoria B.C. where she lived for 33 years.

She was active in the Oak Bay Silver Threads Seniors group there and a dedicated member of St. Andrews Cathedral choir. In 1996 she was awarded a life-time membership by St. Pauls Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She moved to Abbotsford, B.C.

in 1994. Aileen will be greatly missed not only by her extended family, but also by those whose lives she has touched throughout her long life. We will remember her for her readiness to help, her love of babies and stray animals, and her ability to harmonize to any song. Prayers for the repose of the soul of Aileen Haid will be said at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 8th at St.

Anns Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave. Abbotsford. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Anns at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9th at a later date.

LOZOWSKI Mary (nee Hapanowich), born on November 19, 1909, passed away peacefully in sleep on June 4, 2001. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 1989 and sister Tanya in 1962. Colonel of The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, by members of the Sovereign Order of St. John throughout the world; members of Ducks Unlimited Canada, of which he was a Director for 18 years; members of The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club; The Vancouver Club; Regent College; St.

John's (Shaughnessy) Anglican Church and other areas of community service. Born July 10, 1925 in Sarnia, ON, to Emily H. and William E. Phillips, he graduated from O.A.C. with a B.S.A.

degree granted by the University of Toronto. Pursuing a career in agricultural marketing, he became President of Agricultural Chemicals Ltd. in Toronto in 1960. Moving into the international field, he became Vice-President Marketing for the Phosphate Rock Export Assocation in Tampa, Florida in 1972. He was recruited in 1978 to become President and CEO of the Canadian Sulphur Export Corporation and Canworld Shipping Limited in Vancouver.

On retirement from Cansulex in 1990 at age 65, in addition to industry consulting he devoted his considerable energy to military and charitable service in Vancouver and abroad, and to his dearly loved family. He is survived by his wife Lorna; his eldest daughter Robin L. Patterson of Salt Lake City, Utah, wife of Myron and mother of Brett (aged 16); his second daughter Kathleen A. Mahoney of Telluride, Colorado, wife of Bill and mother of Erica (19) and Emily Alexis (15); his son Robert Q. Phillips of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, husband of Linda and father of Kara (15) and Melissa (12); and his youngest daughter Laurie J.

Phillips of St. Paul, Minnesota, wife of Jon Spayde. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on his 76th birthday, July 10th, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John's (Shaughnessy) Anglican Church, at Nanton and Granville Avenue in Vancouver.

Ashes will be interred in the Garden of Remembrance at St. John's. As Hon. LCol of The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, he will be accorded full military honours and will also be attended by Knights and Dames of The Vancouver Commandery of The Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller.

Following the service, a reception will take place at Royal Vancouver Yacht Club at Jericho. The lights of his life Shannon, Jackee, Sara and Alexandra, his adored grandchildren. He was active for many years in amateur car racing in the province. She was involved in the guiding and scouting movement. The final position she held that of "Official Brownie Grandma" was created specifically for her.

Rosalea taught Sunday School at East Burnaby United Church for many years. Then, in the years after her children began to leave home, she took a position as Teachers Assistant and Bus Driver for special needs children in Burnaby. At retirement, Rosalea and Ike moved to Osoyoos and built their own house on the lake, but always loose-footed, they enjoyed many years as "snow birds" in Arizona before Ike's stroke settled them back home. Rosalea worked tirelessly as a care giver for the last 8 years with endless strength and determination. On her last day, she was blessed with the company of her entire family every child and grandchild gathered for the baptism of the youngest two.

Rosalea passed away suddenly unexpectedly but gently on the drive home that day. She will be missed. She touched the lives of enumerable children and she will not be forgotten. Predeceased by husband Jack (1956). Born June 22, 1904 in Cowansville, Kathleen Ball was raised in Lethbridge and as a young woman sought adventure in Dawson City, Yukon, where she taught school and met Jack Wheeler. She is lovingly remembered by her four children raised in Vancouver: Shelagh (Eric), John (Joyce), Elida (Brian), William (Eileen) and by her 12 grandchildren: Eric, Stuart and Brock Smith, Kathleen Outerbridge; Laura Cassavelle, Jack and David Wheeler, Sharon Kulik; Jennifer Welsh and Michael Harris; Dylan and Sean Wheeler and 25 great-grandchildren, each precious to her. Fondly remembered by a large extended family, friends and caregivers (Braddan Hosp.) whom she engaged with her sincere interest in people and her zest for life. Flowers gratefully declined.
