Predeceased by her loving husband Frank (1988). Survived by sons Trevor (Anne), James Ken and John (Jody), and brother Jack Schofield, as well as grandchildren Lisa, Scott, David and Shannon. Survived by his loving family, his wife of 59 years, Joyce; his daughters Norah and Kathleen; his sons Mark and Brock, and his five grandchildren. He served in the British Merchant Navy as an Engineering Officer throughout World War i1, in the North Atlantic. He continued his career ashore, with Trans Mountain Pipeline Company Ltd up until his retirement. She loved her family time, her participation in golf, bridge and swimming. She involved herself in the community through Lady Lions Hospital Auxiliary and in earlier years the Catholic Women's League. A long full life will be celebrated Friday, September 15, 2000 at 11:00 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge.

Passed away Saturday, September 9, 2000 in Delta Hospital, after a brave fight with cancer.

Survived by her loving husband George; daughter Marian; son-in-law Al and grandson David. Also, nephew John Rattenbury and wife Pam; grand-nephews and nieces Andrea (Barry), Chris (Penny) and their children, also June and Len, Christine (Norman), Mike, Carol and Susan, also Maureen in Minnesota. Lilian was employed at Edward Chapman's Men's store on West Pender Street in Vancouver for a number of years, which she enjoyed immensely. Her real passions in life were her home, family, and her garden, which she tended with loving care. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

DELTA FUNERAL HOME 946-6040 Deaths HARVEY Alfred McDonald passed away peacefully at Cairnsmore Place, Duncan, BC on Saturday, September 9, 2000 with his family by his side. Born in Victoria, BC on August 21, 1909. Predeceased by his wife Joyce McLeod (nee Carruthers) and his brother Don Harvey, formerly of Victoria. Lovingly remembered by his family; son Glenn (Cindy); daughter, Margaret (Renato) Cemulini; grandchildren, Daniel (Donna), Paul (Dawn), Jennifer, and Crystal; great granddaughter, Courtney Ann. Alf, whose youth was spent in Victoria and at Shawnigan Lake, lived in Ocean Falls with his wife Joyce while raising their children.

He then supervised the construction of the Gold River townsite. Later, Alf enjoyed 20 years of retirement living near the Gorge before moving closer to his children in Duncan. Past President of the BC School Trustees Association and fifty years a Masters Mason, Alf was also an avid yachtsman and lifetime swimmer. A Celebration of Alfred's life will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.

Letha led a full and active life as wife, mother, artist and athlete. She was a loving companion along the way to Stu during the 48 years of their marriage, and a wonderful role model to her children and grandchildren in her zest for life.

A gifted painter and sculptor, her sculpture, which stands outside Brock House, is one of Vancouver's betterknown landmarks. Letha was also passionate about sports, particularly golf, and won competitions throughout her life, the last at the Shaughnessy Club a few weeks before her death-despite being blind. Many thanks to Dr. David Brown and the staff on the 8th floor, East Wing, Centennial Pavilion, VGH, for their capable and compassionate care, and to Josephine and Belen, who made it possible for her to enjoy all the activities she loved, helping her with kindness and endless good humour.
