KAISER FACES OF New Advertisements OSS POWER REICHSTAG BOER WAR WILL CONSIDER INTERVIEW KEEL- 1NG IS AGAINST ABSOLUTISM. BERLIN, November Many of Chancellor Buelow's severest critics, who a week ago wero demanding his retirement from odlco, arc now anxiously urging him to remain, for, with the prospect that an Inexperienced and less tactful man would bo named as his successor, the -i ublie imagination sees the probability of perils and blunders more damaging to German prestige than those already made. Whether or not Prince Buclow stays, however, is now a secondary consideration. Tho great question to be deter mined at this week's session of tho Reichstag Is whether Germany shall now advance toward constitutional and parliamentary reform, enforcing the principle of responsibility in relations of the sovereign to the peoplo. or whether It is to bo exposed further to such embarrassments as resulted from the Kaiser's Sensational London Interview.

A ghastly life-and-death battle with a monster devilfish is recounted by three sailors of the whaler Beluga, which returned to port today after a season In the north, and the. men's voices falter even in the memory of the sickening The trio who escaped the gigantic tentacles are W. "McDonald, B.

Krause and J. Silvey, the boat steerer. The encounter took place about fifty miles off Herald Island, In the Bering sea. Tho captain sighted what he thought was a whale on the surface of the water and the' three sailors were dispatched to bring in tho carcass. When they rowed their boat close to it they were horrified to discover that their whale was a giant octopus, sun nlng his back and lazily lloating on the waves.

They tried to get away, but it was too lato to avoid a conflict. Already one of the thirty-foot arms of the great fish was feeling over the gunwale, fastening its curious suckers upon the wood. In a frenzy ot liasto McDonald hacked the end of tho tentacle away with his knife. Tho pain infuriated tho hugo fish and nt once three more tentacles were thrown into the boat. One of them was already wound about the shout ders of Silvey when the wicked, par- rot-liko beak and cold eyes ot tho oc-tupus appeared above tho surface.

Tho horny jaws were snapping viciously as they approached nearer their intended victims. Krauso seized tho bomb-gun intended for whales, and discharged it full upon tho aquatic enemy, sending an explosive barb into its dark and leathery body. The arm that was gradually drawing Silvey from tho boat relaxed and slid away, tho fearful flBli- shrank and sunk Into the ocean, leaving in its wako a cloud of inky fluid which concealed its descent. Tho three sailors rowed oack to the Beluga as fast as thel oars would take them. 4....
