Prayer meeting, Thursday AH arc invited to attrt d. The Bam Waco. In this issue ill be found the advertisement of the popular Bain TVngiin, for the (ale of which, J. S. Springer is gent at this place.

Mr. Springer has been en gaged io the.taie of wagons a litlleorcr a rear, and at the beginning kept two at three of the roost popular kinds. But be sold atmo't three time as man; of tho Bain as all ethers com "bined. As the Bain became introduced and tried, the sales of other Linda fell off, until at length he did not feel justified in keeping auy -vjthtr kind, and now sells only tho Bain. Be--sides other adrantages, there is greater caie observed In the workmanship and the use of material.

All the wagons that be sells, ate warranted for one rear, against any imperfections of material or workmanship, lie paysthe tost of all repairs made necessary by such flaws. Doting the past year, he sold fifty Bain Wagocs, and. eighteen of another manufacture that is tauch bragged up. In that time, he has been compelled to pay abint $35 lor repairs on the eighteen wagoii, whereas $5 will cover all the cost of repairs on the fifty Bains. This alone -gives a good idea of the comparative merits of the two wagoni.

Mr. Springer is now recciv Ins them by the car load, direct fr-ra the man nfacturers, anil will always hue a supply on band, and will sell III em at the sime pric-s that are asked in St. Joseph. a Whi Wants Osrt It affords us pleasure to call tbChttention of our readers to our new ad 'Tertlsement of the A. Sumner Co.

This firm lias established such a wide spread reputation 'for thevxrelleuce of articles which it produces, that comment from as is useless. It is neces isry to the order and system of every well regulated family, to a Sewing Afachine; -and if the hutband or father can afford it, an Organ or Piano will contribute to their bappinei. We would advise every one who desires to invest iu these articles, to visit or patronize this houe, feeling assured that no where eke can such perfect satisfaction be rendered. 7 Mails. There is now a tri weekly mail between Highlat'd, 'Iowa Point, and this place; and that, we believe, is canied under a rather indefinite tub contract, as much for accommo dation as otherwise, and is liable to be interfered with at any time.

When a Doniphan County man was appointed Mail Inspector, we did hope that he would pay some attention to regulating tho mails in his own County, but they have been gradually growin; worse. We pie same he is too basy looking after the political lnteratsof his patron. anJ in laying the ropes to have Djniphao County sustain Clarke for a re nomination. Man DaowwiD at LAFATtTTE. On Thursday evening of latit week, a man named James Coates, while bathing in the JINsonri River, at Lafayette, in this County, was drowned, lie jumped into the water from the tipper end of a raft, and after swimming about half the length down the rait, suddenly sank and was scn no more.

He had been working hard all day, and was conrdembly fatigued; but he was subject to fits, snd it is supposed one df them came upon him after he leaped into the water. Mr. Coates formerly lived in Iowa Poiiit. His agc was probably 30 years, and he bad no family. NotHAi.
