Eighty-one per cent (rf the stockholders in Aetna-Standard Engineering Ellwood City, yester day afternoon approved the sale of company assets to the Blaw Knox Co. William Jardine, treasurer of the engineering works, said Blaw'-Knox officials have indicated that will remain intact and operate as a division of A two-thirds affirmative vote of 507,830 stockholders was required to approve the sale of assets which are expected to provide about $32 per share. The Aetna board of directors unanimously recommended the sale to shareholders. Terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement indicate Blaw-Knox will pay a purchase price of about $13 million depending on inventories and adjustments for transactions and activities in flow. Jardine said the agreement contemplates that Blaw-Knox will take over the Aetna-Standard organization intact, will assume obligations under existing pension agreements covering hourly-paid employees, and will make available to salaried personel an opportunity to participate in the Blaw-Knox pension plan, either on a contributory or non-contributory basis.

Business Upturns Good For Tube Official Says ELLWOOD upturns in business are working out well for local operations, W. R. McCalister, general superintendent of the tube works here, told over 200 National Tube Management Assn. members this week. McCalister honored five management members a-t the dinner meeting attributing the quality products manufactured by the plant to men such as those honored for their long services.

Ben Chambers, Dom Caminite, and Leo Laughlin, received 3(Kyear service awards. Ben Calderoue and Joseph Smith, took 35-year service honors. The management club-sponsored Junior Science Research Organization scholarship fund was discussed by Past President E. B. Ritchie.

Current activities of the junior scientiste were reported by Joe Clark who said the boys are building a telescope now. Clark repeatedly expressed amazement at the knowledge displayed hy tile young science club members. J. J. Hopper, assistant general superintendent of the plant spoke on the importance of plant housekeeping, comparing it with the individual home.

News Of Ellwood Men In Service James H. Winfield, seaman, USN son of Mr. and Mrs. William Winfield, Ellwood City, is serv'ing aboard'the repair ship USS Ajax, which returned to San Diego, Feb. 9, after a 7-mon-th tour of duty with the 7th Fleet in the Far East.

While in foreign waters, the Ajax made calls at Japan, Gtjam, Okinawa, and Hawaii. Marine Pfc. William M. Brown, son of Mr, and Mrs. C.

F. Brown, Ellwood City, took part in the 18th anniversary celebration of the 2nd Marine Feb. 2, at Camp Lejeune, N.C. The Division was formed in San Diego, Feb. 1, 1941.

1877, daughter of the late Nicolae Haiduc and Anna Gaurila Haiduc. She was married to the late Nick Ursu w'ho her in death in 1928.
