President, Sidney Nelson. ad Although there were only eight arrests for driving while intoxicated all during 1950 in Warrea this year's fifteenth arrest, on that charge came Wednesday night when Floyd L. Hollabaughwas picked up by borough police. Special police patrols ranged through the city of Franklin today in an effort to put down an outbreak of vandalism in which the tires of at least 15 automobiles were slashed within a 90 minute period. The slashings started yesterday morning.

Police said the vandals evidently kept track of the policecruiser pursuing them, for as it moved into one ward, the tire slashing would break out in another. and Mrs. Albert Friedl, 518 Hacker street, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with open house Wednesday afternoon and evening. Three, hundred friends called upon the couple who received many gifts on the occasion. The reception table was decorated with a wedding cake and garden flowers. Mrs.

Leona Leossler and Mrs. Betty Walker, nieces of Mrs. Friedl, presided at the tea table. The couple was married in Olean August 8, 1901, and moved to Kane in 1918; Mr. and Mrs.

Friedl's three children were present' for the celebration. They are Mrs. Melvin Gustafson, Smethport, Mrs. Ray Phillips and Ralph Friedl, Kane. The couple has four grandchildren.

Guests were present from St. Paul, Cleveland, Washington, Emporium, St. Marys. Bradford and Smethport, in addition to friends from Kane. TWO PICNICS HELD Forty members of the McKean County Bar Association held a picnic yesterday at the Kane Country club.

Funeral services in memory of Sidney Nelson, 44, whose sudden death due to a heart attack occurred here early yesterday afternoon, will be' held at two o'clock Mon day afternoon at the Brugger fu neral home in Erie.

The Rev. Ray mond Geiger will conduct the ser vices and burial will be in Cal vary cemetery Friends may call here at the Hill funeral home today only. Nelson was a past worthy president of the Kane Aerie and was also a member of theKane lodge of Moose. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Helen of Kane; his father, Mangus of Erie, two brothers, Arthur and Harold of Erie and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Stolinske and Mrs. Harriet Lindquist of Erie.
