S. P. Land Suit. San Francisco, Feb. United States circuit court of appeals decided Monday that the Southern Pacific company cannot be forced to sell thousands of acres of land acquired under the congressional grant of 1871, at $2.50 an acre.

The question was presented to the court in a petition of George S.
