Oct. 23, 1953. at the Kaiser Hospital, xo 'KISSING' MUSCLES HELP TO CONFINE TOOTH INFECTION (Continued From City Page) Tougher muscle fiber offers resistance through which they often cannot move. Thus, he said, the infection area of an abscessed molar or bicuspid is frequently prevented from spreading outward to the skin of the face because it cannot get through what he termed the "muscles of expression." Confined In this manner, the infection is more easily treated by medication and the body's natural defenses, he said. The often-discussed question of whether diseased teeth can be blamed for infections and ailments in other parts of the body was given forthright treatment by Dr.

Hamilton B. G. Robinson, professor of dentistry at Ohio State University. DENTISTS' DUTY A specialist in oral diseases and diagnosis, Dr. Robinson said it was the duty of every dentist to eliminate disease he discovered in any mouth.

However, he added no patient should be led to believe that cure of other ailments is certain to result from the elimination of infection in the mouth. There is, he said, no accurate "measuring meter" for determining whether bad teeth can be blamed specifically for other bodily ills. "All oral infection is a detriment to health and should be eliminated for that reason," he said, "but local infections are also potential foci of infection. "Restore the mouth to health in all patients. Do not remove teeth from patients referred to you by physicians unless you would remove the teeth in the same state from other patients." ahso Montana, a daughter.

Duncan related how both he and Swanson got off their bar stools and how Swanson danced around him "like a boxer." He then related how Swanson threatened him and how he (Dun can) feared for his life. "He lunged for me, his left hand raised in front of him, his right hand reaching into his shirt at his belt," said Duncan. "I fired one shot to his left and another to his right, the third shot I fired to hit him," Duncan stated. CALLED POLICE Duncan then told how he put his gun in his pocket' and left the cafe and went to his home where he called Needles Police Chief Frank Bland and told Bland he had shot Swanson.
