a TWELVE THE LEADER -POST, REGINA, FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 1955 Saskatchewan weddings CARROT RIVER (Special)- A double-ring ceremony was performed in St. Andrew's College chapel, Saskatoon, May when Marjorie Lorraine Dunham, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dunham of Carrot River became bride of William Ronald Middagh, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.

J. Middagh of Flin Flon. Rev. A. A.

Hamilton of the Third Avenue church performed the service. Miss Florence Cross supplied the wedding music and the bride was given in marriage by her father, The bride wore a floor-length gown of white nylon net over satin. The strapless gown had a Chantilly lace redingote featuring a Queen Anne collar and lily-point sleeves. Her chapel-length veil of illusion net was held in place by a matching headdress trimmed with pearls and sequins. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls and matching earrings.

She carried a bouquet of pink roses and fern tied with white satin ribbon. Miss Marion Dunham was her sister's maid of honor and Miss Gloria Dunham, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. Ray Adams of Flin Flon was best man. James Middagh, brother of the groom, ushered. A reception for 28 guests was held at the Bambo gardens.

After a honeymoon trip Mr. and Mrs. Middagh will make their home at Clarkson, where the groom, a graduate of the 1955 class in chemical engineering will be, stationed. accompanied by Miss Dorothy, Dodds, A reception was held in the church parlors. A turkey supper was served to the 88 guests by the WA.

After a short the bride and groom honeymoon, home in Calgary, MIDDAGH-DUNHAM accompanied Dodds, FUDGE NICOL MOOSOMIN (Special) Joyce Irene Nicol, of Calgary, wore an heirloom locket belonging to her mother, to complement her bridal gown, when she exchanged marriage vows with Norman John Fudge of Peace River May 21 in Moosomin United church. Rev. W. A Thomas officiated at the doubie-ring ceremony, Pink and white tulle bows marked the guest pews. The bride is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Andrew Nicol and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J.

Fudge, all of Moosomin. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a ballerina-length white net skirt over taffeta and a lace bodice. The gown was topped by a lace bolero featuring a Peter Pan collar and lily-point sleeves. Her finger-tip lace edged veil was held in place by a sequin trimmed calot, She carried a bouquet of red roses. Miss Ruth Nicol, Moosomin, was her sister's bridesmaid and Gerald Gutey of Virden was best man.

Ushers were Raymond Bird peg and Gerald Burns, Regina. Virs, M. Beckett presided at the organ and Miss Joanne MacPherson was soloist. A reception for some 70 guests Was held the United church basement. The bride and groom left for a honeymoon trip to the United States.

They will reside at Peace River DR. AND MRS. McFARLANE McCARTHY A white Irish linen, princess styled dress, was worn by Lois McCarthy of Corning when she exchanged marriage vows with George McFarlane of Peebles May 14. Rev. Dr.

J. Scott Leith performed the late afternoon ceremony in the Westminster United church manse. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross McCarthy of Corning and the groom is the youngest Andrew McFarlane of Peebles and the late Mrs.

McFarlane. The charming bride was given in marriage by her father. Her street-length linen dress had a matching short bolero and white chapel veil, She carried a white Bible and wore a corsage of red roses. Attendants were Miss Ora McQuoid of Summerberry and Obert Hval of Corinne. Following the ceremony a ception for 23 guests was held in the Oak room of hotel.

Mr. and Mrs. McFarlane left for a short honeymoon in the United States and eastern Canada. PAULSON GAMMON BRANDON A pretty candlelight ceremony took place in First Baptist church, Brandon 19, when Grace Agnes Paulson, eldest daughter of Sgt. and Mrs.

Kurt of Paulson Gordon of Shilo, Gammon, became son the of bride Mrs. M. Gammon and the late M. Gammon of Calgary. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev.

Norman Todd. The bride, who was given by her father, was dressed in a satin gown fashioned on princess The bodice was of lace, and J. SCHELTINGA Southern trip for newlyweds A wedding trip to Colorado, Springs and points south followed the marriage of Rita Lucille Gagne of Kipling and Dr. Douglas J. Scheltinga of Sedley and Regina May, 5 in Holy Rosary cathedral, Regina, Rev.

W. Wadey performed the ceremony. The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gagne, reside at Kipling and the groom is the son of Mrs.

Rose Scheltinga of Sedley and the late Peter Scheltinga. Mr. Gagne gave his daughter in marriage. She chose a strapless lace and nylon net gown for her wedding. The lace torso was toppedi by a bolero styled with a Peter Pan collar, The graceful nylon ret full skirt was worn over a cri- noline.

Her finger-tip net veil, banded by three. inches of lace, misted from a crown effect lace headdress. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white narcissi. ATTENDANTS Miss Catherine Kenney was bridesmaid and Conrad Bechard was best man. Mrs.

Harold Gallagher organist and Mrs. M. Flaman was soloist. Guests were ushered to their places by Matt Wassill and Harold Clements. The Isabella room at Hotel Saskatchewan was the scene for the reception which followed.

Forty guests were present. Dr. and Mrs. Scheltinga will reside in Regina when they return from the United States. Nebraska honeymoon follows Regina nuptials A wedding trip to Lincoin, braska, followed the May 21 marriage of Loretta Jane Dawson and Glen Lewis Wight, both of Regina The ceremony took place at Westminster United church with the Rev.

J. Scott Leith officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Charlotte B. Dawson of Regina and W.

W. Dawson, Ottawa, and the groom is the son of Mrs. J. J. Howard of Regina and the late W.

H. Wight. The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Kenneth K. Staple of Quesnel, B. C.

She chose a gown of white nylon net, floorlength, styled in princess lines with an off shoulder neckline, trimmed with seed pearls. The skirt was trimmed with a nylon net band and a gathered flounce. A matching bolero with lily-point sleeves topped her dress, Her finger-tip veil was held in place with a coronet of seed pearls and lace. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid and lily-of-thevalley, trimmed with white satin streamers and rosebuds. BRIDES' TWIN SISTER Mrs.

Joan Seed, twin sister of the bride, was matron of honor, with Yvonne Crouch serving as bridesmaid, and Gayle Garret of Milestone, niece of the groom, as flower girl. Best man was W. Wight, brother of the groom, and ushers were W. D. Lowe, Jack Birkett, G.

Wood featured a sweetheart neckline trimmed with iridescent pearls, with lily-point sleeves. The full skirt was overlaid with net. Her chapel length veil was held by a crown of pearls. The gift of the groom, a single strand of pearls, complemented her gown. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses.

The bride's attendants were Miss Irene Paulson, Mrs. J. Willms, Miss Minnie Bessie and Miss Esther Paulson. Serving as best man was J. Willms of Yorkton.

Wedding music was provided by Mrs. C. MacDonald, who accompanied the soloist, Kenneth Paulson. A reception was held at the house of the bride's parents, following which the young couple left for a honeymoon in Banff, They will reside in Calgary. HILLIS-MORGAN MR.

AND MRS. F. D. McRAE, Vancouver trip follows wedding A motor trip to Vancouver, through the United States, followed the marriage of Ruth Marilyn MacNaughton and Frederick Donald McRae, both of Regina, May 21. Rev.

R. Fox performed the ceremony in Rosemount United church, Regina, The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter MacNaughton of Regina and the groom is the son of Mrs. D.

McRae of Vancouver and the late Mr. McRae. FRIEND MADE GOWN Mrs. D. Jewitt of Weyburn, a friend of the bride, made the bride's lace and white waltz-length gown.

The strapless bodice was topped by a jacket (featuring lily-point sleeves. Her finger veil was held in place by a mother-of-peafl crown, She carried a bouquet of red roses and white gladioli, and wore pearls, gift of the groom. Mr. MacNaughton gave his daughter in marriage. Attendants were the bride's sister, Carole MacNaughton and Harry Clarke.

Roy Boyle provided wedding music and guests were ushered to their places by Wayne and Roger MacNaughton, brothers of the bride. A reception was held at the Canadian Federation of the Blind building. Mr. and Mrs. McRae will reside in Regina.

RUECKER Grace Lutheran vOWS exchanged Rev. P. Fry officiated at a ceremony May 21 in Grace Lutheran church, Regina, when Francis Amelia Brown and Roy Rucker exchanged their vows. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. A.

Brown, Odessa, and the late A. Brown, while the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H.

Rucker reside in Atwater, Sask. GIVEN BY BROTHER-IN-LAW F. Mohr, brother-in-law of the bride, gave her in marriage. She wore a cocktail length gown of white nylon net over satin with a bodice topped with a lace bolero. Her fingertip veil was held by a headdress of pleated tulle trimmed with sequins and seed pearls.

She carried a bouquet of red roses, and wore the gift of the groom, a single strand of pearls with matching earrings. Attendants were Miss Marie Brown, sister of the bride, and Maynard Ruecker, brother of the groom. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. P. Fry.

Ushers Moosomin bride feted at shower MOOSOMIN Gilchrist was honored at a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. T. Creighton." Miss Lois Hogg was co Pink and white streamers and wedding bells decorated the guest of honor's chair. Gifts were sented on behalf of 20 guests. Refreshments were served.

SALTCOATS (Special) The Saltcoats United church was the scene of a wedding April 2 when Joyce Annie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morgan, became the bride of Lyle Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hillis of Nipawin, Sask.

Rev. J. Moreland officiated at the ceremony for which music was' provided by Mrs. J. Brigadear, while Miss Barbara Larson was soloist.

The bride, given by her father, wore a three-quarter length gown of white nylon net studded with rhinestones, the threetiered bouffant skirt topped with a lace bolero featuring a Peter Pan collar and lily sleeves. Her finger-tip veil was held by a Queen Anne headdress. Her bouquet was an arrangement of a mauve orchid on a white Bible, with yellow rosebuds cascading down white streamers. Attending the bride as bridesmaid was Miss Shirley Kardosh, Carol Jean Morgan was flower girl and Neil McKay attended the groom. Jimmy Morgan, brother of the bride, and Dale Hillis, brother of the groom, were ushers.

Following a reception at the home of the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W. Bradford, a wedding dance was held in Castleton school. REMAI SWEET CARROT RIVER (Special) A treditional white wedding gown was worn by Lucy Loretta Sweet, youngest daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Roy Sweet of Carrot River when she became the bride of John Victor Remai, son Mr. and Mrs. Steve Remai of Carrot River, May 17. Rev.

G. M. Masse of Tisdale performed the ceremony in the Canadian Martyrs Catholic church in Carrot River. Mr. Sweet gave his daughter in marriage.

The lovely bride's gown was fashioned with a full nylon net skirt over satin and a fitted strapless bodice of nylon lace. A nylon lace bolero featured lily- point sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. Her finger-tip veil of illusion net was held in place by a coronet styled tiara trimmed with rhinestones. Her only ornament was a deuble strand pearl necklace with matching earrings, gift of the groom and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and lilyof the-valley and fern, tied with white satin ribbon and streamers with rose buds. Mrs.

Dorothy Jones was her sister's matron of honor and Miss Tressa Remai, the groom's sister, was bridesmaid. Little Vickie Ostlund and Christine Mazurik, nieces of the bride were flower girls. The groom was attended by his brother, Frank, and Herbert Sweet, the bride's brother. Miss Joan Wawryk supplied wedding music and the choir presented a selection during the signing of the register, A reception was held at the bride's home for 45 guests. Mr.

and Mrs. Remai left for a honeymoon trip to the United States. QUEEN FOR A DAY SOUTHEND, England CP -The carnival queen of this essex seaside resort has been loaned 000 worth of jewelry by local jewllers to wear at a banquet celebrating her selection. MR. AND MRS.

L. R. DONNELLY Banff honeymoon for Regina bride ESTERHAZY (Special)-Two teachers of the same school district were united in marfiage April 12 when Eleanor Wedin, daughter of Mrs. Norah Wedin of Fairy Glen and the late Peter Wedin, became the bride of Wilfred Joseph Plosz, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Julius Plosz of Stockholm. The ceremony took place in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic church, with the Rev. J. J. Burns officiating.

Given in marriage by Michael Kuruez, the bride wore a semiformal gown of ruffled. white nylon net over taffetta. The strapless bodice was topped by a hand-embroidered nylon bolero featuring lily-point sleeves. A ruffled net headdress trimmed with seed pearls held the chapel length veil. She carried a nosegay of pink rosebuds on a white Prayer Book.

Bridesmaid was Miss Laura Plosz, sister of the groom, Robert Shivak of Stockholm served as best man. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Antosh. A reception was held in the church basement, after which the young couple left for a motor trip to Fairy Glen.

They will reside in Esterhazy. HOLMLUND-PEARDON PLOSZ WEDIN LOREBURN (Special), Cut flowers and potted plants decorated the United church at Loreburn May 14 when Rev. J. D. Evans united in marriage Patricia Ann Peardon, youngest daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. W. L. Peardon, Loreburn and Blaine Adraine Holmlund, son of Mr. and Mrs.

G. Holmlund, Strongfield. The bride, a graduate of the Saskatoon city hospital school of nursing, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white gown of nylon net and silk lace over white satin with a matching lace bolero styled with lilypoint sleeves, Her finger-tip veil misted from a coronet headdress embroidered with seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations with satin streamers and rose buds. Mrs.

A. J. Garneau, Portage La Prairie, attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Miss Eva Blakeley. Patricia Ann Miller of Regina, niece of the bride, was the dainty flower girl.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Mrs. W. Roteliuk of Regina and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Konrad Bodenschatz of Germany. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a ballerina-length strapless gown of nylon net and lace. The lace bolero was styled with. lily point sleeves and her picture hat was fashioned of matching lace, Her accessories were pearls and she carried a bouquet of Sweetheart roses. ATTENDANTS were Wayne Brown and Raymond Ruecker.

A reception in the Rose room of Frank's cafe was followed in the evening by a reception at the bride's home in Odessa. Mr. and Mrs. Ruecker will reside in Regina. Mrs.

A. Birch was matron of honor and Miss J. Roteliuk, the bride's sister, and Beatrice Niebergall were bridesmaids. Anthony Birch was best man and guests were ushered to their places by Larry Moloski and Symonds. A reception was held in the Quebee hall after the service.

A honeymoon in Banff followed the wedding May 23 of Bernice Eleanor Rogers and Leslie Howard Donnelly of Regina at Holy Rosary Cathedral, Rev. W. Wadey officiated at the morning ceremony: The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.

B. Rogers of Regina and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Donnelly of Herbert. The bride, who was given by her father, wore a gown of white crystalline styled with a long torso bodice, and bouffant skirt of dainty ruffles.

Lily-point elbow length gloves complemented the dress. Her finger-tip was held in place by a headdress trimmed with mother-of-pearl leaves and sequins. She wore a single strand of pearls, the gift of the groom. Maid of honor was Miss Bernice Dufour, and Miss Elaine Donnelly and Miss Dorothy McGinn served as bridesmaids. Two sisters of the bride, Sheila and Theresa Rogers, were flower girls, Bestman was the groom's brother, Thomas Donnelly, while C.

Brenne and L. Young ushered the guests. Another sister of the bride, Miss Marion Rogers, was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. H. Gallagher.

Following a dinner for 100 guests at the Rose Room of the King's hotel an afternoon reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. On their return from their honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Rogers will live in Regina. MR.

AND MRS. DONALD J. McCUAIG following Saskatoon destination following marriage Residence in Saskatoon will be the final destination of Mr. and Scottish bride taken by Reginan Aberdeen, Scotland, was the birthplace of Miss Marie Moir, who became the bride of Eugene David of Regina in a morning ceremony at Holy Rosary May 9. Rev.

J. C. Deutsher performed the ceremony daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Moir, Aberdeen, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Slinn of Regina. The bride's uncle, M. P. Haughian, gave his niece in marriage.

She wore a floor-length gown of nylon. tulle with insertions of French lace in the skirt, and a fitted bodice a lace yoke and lily-point sleeves. Her nylon tulle floor veil was held a headdress of satin and seed pearls, and she carried a white Prayer book with streamers of Sweet- heart roses. PRINCIPALS' SISTERS Her attendants were her sister, Miss Jocelyne Moir, and the groom's sister, Miss Joyce Slinn, The groom's attendants were Edward Dormuth and Morley Slinn, and Kenneth Moens and Dennis Siinn served as ushers. Wedding music was provided by Harold Gallagher as organist and Joseph Cels soloist.

A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Haughian followed by a dance in the evening at the Regina Golf club.

For their honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Slinn motored to several points in the United States, and will make their home in Regina on their return. Mrs. Donald James McCuaig fol.

E. D. SLINN For the early evening ceremony, which was performed by Rev. G. Heffelfinger, the bride chose a box suit with a navy skirt and contrasting light blue tweed jacket, Her ensemble was completed by a white straw hat and navy blue clutch purse.

She wore a corsage of red roses. Attendants were Mrs. Jean Hoffman as bridesmaid and Budd McNeill as best man. Following a short stay in Regina Mr. and Mrs.

A reception for 150 guests was, held in the dining room of the church, after which the young couple left for their honeymoon trip.
