The women's costumes of bright prints formed a fine contrast to Jack Tar's garb. Never was more sailor-looking a crew than that of the Bounding Billow. Cotton jerseys, jaunty caps and liberally tattoed forearms were details. Particularly fine acting is provided by James M. Kerr, Bill Salt, boatswain of the Bounding Billow.

In deep voice he tells fabulous stories to the girls of Barnstapoole about "elephanta sitting in trees" and of a Tahitian queen loved him; but they remain unimpressed and tease him unmercifully. The three other tars, George Ford, George Burge and George Newman acted well the parts of rough and ready sea- men. Mildred Allen Fills Role Mildred Allen as Julia, haughty belle of Barnstapoole, referred to by Bill Salt as "a trim little clipper," charms all the sailors away from their sweethearts and thereby earns the jealousy of the village, girls. Mrs. Allan charmed the audience too.

Her lovely voice was heard in a number of the finest solos of the comedy. Dorothy Liddon, Joan Richards and Norma, Reid as Delia, Daisy and Dora, three girls, form captivating Their chief village, sorrow is that their sailor sweethearts have left them for the haughty Julia and they express disconsolation in a sweet-toned trio. Drama on Program "Such Is Fame," a comedy in one act, presented by members of the choir, forms part of the program. It, is full of humor. The conversation of Mabel Harrison, as Jane, the cockney housemaid, cook and confidential adviser, ie especially sparkling. Her mistress, role filled by Margaret Moore, a young novelist whose first book has just been published, is besieged with letters, callers and messengers, but Jane handles them all deftly in cockney form. Miss Moore, in the part of Jessica Wynbush, the novelist, young, inexperienced and naive, gives an excellent characterization.

The climax comes when Jessica's two maiden and very, eccentric aunts pecognize, their, aunts portraits are in taken her by Myrtle Smith and Winnifred Kirk. They arrive at the young novelist's home at the same time and an amusing scene follows when she tries to placate them, all talking at once and both aunts shaking umbrellas at the novelist.
