Mr. Schroth is known in the newspaper world as a man of the highest character and he has high ideals of the relationship which should exist between the newspaper and the community it serves.

He was formerly the editor and publisher of The Trenton State Gazette and for the past seven years has been the associate publisher and general manager of The Trenton Times Newspapers. He also for several years was the president of The New Jersey Associated Press. The Scranton Republican under his direction will be true to its fine traditions of the past Colonel Laurence H. Watres, president of the present company, will continue as a director of the new organisation. Mr.

Leslie B. Tyler who has so faithfully and so efficiently served The Republican as general manager for so many years and whose services have been keenly appreciated, has joined with the other officers in tendering their resignations.
