Fred South, 19, Robert South, 21, and Dr. Ken Win-terton will have a double-round playoff to decide who will display the O'Keefe Cup on their mantelpiece. Objectively, the chances are (wo put of three that the cup will appear on the South mantelpiece, because Fred and Robert are brothers.

Chess attracts talented brother combinations, but usually one outshines the other. The Souths, though, are evenly matched, as their tie for first place shows.
