Thursday, May 15, Th6 Siin Pag 7 OIHTOAIIIIES Thomas DiaPaul Henry Willett Army veteran and owner of Willett Nursery for over 50 years, dies at 81 Funeral services were held Friday (May 2) in Shreveport, Louisiana for former Hamburg resident Thomas J. DiaPaul, 51, who died Tuesday, April 29, 2003. He is survived by his son, Thomas Joseph DiaPaul II; daughters, Catherine (Deke) Tenney, Christine "Chrissy" and Carolyn DiaPaul; mother, Flora DiaPaul of Hamburg; sister, Mary (Rich) Skora; brothers, Ralph (Marie) and Daniel (Debbie) DiaPaul; fiancee, Terri H. Pugh; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Frank DiaPaul.

Burial was at Centuries Memorial Park and arrangements were made through the Rose-Neath Funeral-Home in Shreveport, Monica Hackett Funeral services were held Friday (May 9) for Monica Janulewicz Hackett who died Monday, May 5, 2003. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Keith) Crewson, Kathleen (Patrick) Malloy; sons, Mark (Marion), Scott (Debra), and Eric (Rachel) Hackett; brother, Paul (Kathy); four grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Edwin Hackett and sister, Joan Janulewicz. Memorials may be made to the SPCA. Arrangements were made through Loomis, Offers Loomis, Inc.

Walter Ulrich, Jr. Funeral services were held Friday (May 9) for Walter O. Ulrich, of Hamburg, who died Sunday, May 4, 2003. He is survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Cecelia Koclinski.

Mr. Ulrich was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and served in WWII. Arrangements were made through Loomis, Offers Loomis, Inc. duty in the Vietnam War before finally retiring from service in 1971. He received numerous air medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Mr. Willett owned and operated Willett Wholesale Nursery on Route 62 for over 50 years and was a rural mail carrier at Lawtons Post Office for 30 years before retiring in 1988. He was a I i fe member ofHambu rg VFW Post No. 1419 and was a member of Gowanda American Legion Post No. 409 and the F-86 Sabre Club.

He was an exempt member of the Lawtons Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of the Shrine Horse Patrol, American Nurseryman's Association and Lodge No. 262, Free Accepted Masons. Memorials may be made to the Schoolhouse No. 8 Restoration, Willett Family, or the SPCA. it Lwi 1..

ii i DiaPaul Neubeck Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Angola and arrangements were made through Heimburg-Addison Funeral Home in Angola. Helen Cummings Funeral services were held on Wednesday (May 7) from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church Blasdell for Helen Cummings, 82, who died Sunday, May 4, 2003. She is survived by her sister, Anne (late Warren) Schmidt, Dorothy (late Richard) Weigel, Margaret Saunders, Marie (late Gerald) Buck, Rita (Henry) Powhat; brothers Joseph (Arthura) Carlin, James (Helen) Carlin, Thomas (Carol) Carlin, and many nieces and nephews. She "was predeceased by her husband, James Cummings; brother John Carlin and sister, Therese (late Emerson) Smith. Mrs.

Cummings was a registered nurse at the VA Hospital. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery and arrangements were made through John J. Kaczor Funeral Home. Sandra Malota Funeral services were held Monday (May 12) from St. Francis of Assisi Church for Sandra M.

Kowalski Malota, of Hamburg, who died Thursday, May 8, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Malota; sons, Thomas M. (Jill) and Michael Malota; daughter, Jessica (Bryan) Neischel; brother, Jerome (Ann) Malota; sister, Christine (Edward) Reed; nieces and nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Malota.

Mrs. Malota was a member of VFW Post No. 14 19 Ladies Auxiliary. Arrangements were made through the Colonial Memorial Chapels. Mary Jane Militello A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.ml from Holy Spirit Church for Mary Jane Nicosia Militello, who died Monday, May 12, 2003.

She is survived by her husband, August Militello; daughters, Jane (David), Becker and Linda Militello; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were made' thresh; the Wentland Funeral Home. A memorial service was held Wednesday (May 14) from Wentland Funeral Home for Henry L. "Hank" Willett 81 of Hamburg, who died Saturday, May 10, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Judith Dye Willett; daughter, Roni Lee Willett; and brother, David Willett.

He was predeceased by his son, Henry L. Willett III; sisters, Shirley Taft and Clara Steff; and brother, Ronald L. Willett. Mr. Willett was born in Gowanda and grew up in Lawtons.

He graduated from Gowanda High School in 1938 and -later attended the University of Buffalo. He enrolled in the Civilian Pilot Training Program and received his wings in the Army Air Forces in 1942. Assigned to North Africa and Italy, he flew over 50 missions in 1943. He later trained navigators in Kansas and then became an officer in the Air-Sea Rescue Service in New York City. He was discharged in 1947 and later served in the Air Force Reserve.

As a member of the Air National Guard, he was called to active Henry Home Word has been received of the death of Henry A. Home, 84, of Gowanda, who died Wednesday, May 7, 2003. Husband of the late Beatrice Home, he is survived by his sons, Richard and Donald Home; daughter, Dorothy Ann Swan; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mr. Home was an employee of Bell Aero Systems, a division of Textron in Wheatfield, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1989.

Arrangements were made through the Schindler Funeral Home in Gowanda. Tina Kowal Funeral services were held Tuesday (May 13) from the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home for Tina M. Kowal, 31, of Blasdell, who died Friday, May 9, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Dustin, Devon and Darian; parents, Thomas and Mary Windahl Kowal; brother, Thomas Kowal and other family members.

Ms. Kowal was a rehabilitation specialist for Claddagh Commision in Derby. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Kent P. (Deborah) Neubeck; brothers Russell (Diane) Macey and Matthew (Sally) Mesi; grandsons Brett and Justin Neubeck, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J.

Neubeck and sister, Marie (Donald) Studd. Mrs. Neubeck was a member of the Evans Garden Club. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Jo-An Shirley Palma Funeral services were held on Wednesday (May 7) for Jo-Ann Shirley (Haap) Palma, 73, who died Sunday, May 4, 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Palma; son. Hank (Beth) Palma and granddaughters Courtney and Chelsea Palma. Mrs. Palma was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Parish Neighbors and Altar and Rosary Society.

Nancy Hoelscher A Mass of Christian Burial was held from St Mary's Church in East Eden on Friday (May 9) for Nancy M. (Bartz) Hoelscher, 56, who died Monday, May 5, 2003.

She is survived by her husband, Robert daughters Mary and Julie; mother, Margaret (late Paul) Bartz; brother, Donald (Angie) Bartz; sister, Marie (Dennis) Hallock, and brother-in-laws Victor (Edna) Hoelscher and Albert (Sally). She was predeceased by her brother-in-laws Joseph (Elvira) Hoelscher, David (surviving Noreen), and sister-in-law Miriam (Harold) Burial was in SCMars Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Frank C. Signeti; sons, Mark (Jacquie), Paul (Becky), Anthony (Laura); daughters, Carol (Tom) La Belle, Annmarie (Joe) Winterbotham; brother, Richard (Leona) Prinzbach; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nieces and nephews. Mrs.

Sigeti was a registered nurse at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, where she was a retired vice president of nursing. After receiving a bachelor's degree in nursing from Niagara University, she began a nursing career that began in 1951 and lasted until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Sigeti served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Post 1419, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hamburg. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

"Mae" Tynan Englert, who died Wednesday, May 7, 2003. Wife of the late Francis G. Englert, she is survived by her sons, Robert (Lisa) Englert and Francis X. (Judith) Englert III; brother, Steven (late Dorothy), Jane Tynan; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other family members. She is predeceased by her brothers, James (Jane) and Francis (Alma) Tynan; and sister, Betty (Albert) Dudzik.
