G. William STATE ENGINEER TO AID FLOOD SITUATION Replying to a recent communication from Frank Hummler, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce committee on control of the flood waters of the Lackawanna river, Charles E. Dorworth, of the department of forests and waters. Harrisburg advises that Charles E. Ryder, chief engineer of the water and power resources board will meet informally with the local committee to consider this matter.

Mr. Hummler was requested to inform Mr. Ryder when it will be convenient for the committee to meet with the chief engineer in this city. It is expected that a date for the session will be announced shortly. During Mr Ryder's visit here he will accompany the committeemen over the course followed by the river through the city and offer suggestions as to steps considered advisable for taking to solve the problem of flood control.
