The only run Ferla surrendered was unearned. South Brunswick's Roger Craig singled in the second Inning and scored when shortstop Kevin Puentcs booted a ground ball with two out and the bases loaded. July 8. Palmer, who jumped in winning the County Meet of Champions last week, cleared the height on his second try and just missed at seven feet. The Bergen County high school record for the event is 6-9 by Hackensack's Skip Johnson in 1972. Johnson also cleared 6-10 in a 1972 AAU event. Palmer qualified at 42-10 in the triple jump and Teaneck sprinter Mike Iris-Thompson was second in the 100 and 220.
