FRIDAY cani'atinn's assisting the San Rer- e- nn nardino branch of the national Central Labor council, night, A- iniang District conference cancer society in conducting a Watch county drive to finance a three-way program of cancer research, education and treatment. Twenty-thirty clubs throughout the nation are aiding in the drive, using the slogan, "A quarter-mile of quarters." The "quarter-mile of quarters" amounts to $3,900, and as funds pour into San Bernardino campaign headquarters, a red mark will be advanced up the thermometer, denoting percentage of the $3,900 city residents have donated. In addition to the thermometer, the club will install two downtown booths where donations will be received. One will be in the American National bank and the other, at the southwest corner of Fourth and streets.
